Yep, I would not trust the group buy spec over his website either. To my understanding, and I could be wrong, the BC cams are a chilled cast blank core. I would not trust a 9.52mm lift cam made that way. 8.6 is fine on a chilled cast. 9.2-9.5mm I would do nothing but 4140 billet steel round...

Re welds we call them! Just make sure they are still straight. Welding a cam can bend it 18 thousand in no time.

I don't think they are 9.52, he list them as a 8.53 and a 8.68mm lift. Both of which are actually a small cam, and I think will only make you want a larger one.

everyone is giving good answers, but remember, he said he is going to put a biggerr set of cams in the head. The the point of needing to upgrade the valvetrain really depends on the cam selected and the rpm he wants to spin the motor. An Under 8mm 264 cam run at near stock rpm will play happy...

I will chime in here, you can run up to nearly a 9.7--9.52 lift with out cam lobe clearance issues. You can run up to a 10.2 to 10.5 mm lift with a 272 duration with the standard shims. You can not however just throw them in. They must be shimmed pretty tight and the edge needs to be knocked off...

What DR Jones is trying to tell you is What others have done, has nothing to do with what you need to do. Install your set up at stock fuel pressure and put a wide band on there and tune your fuel specific for your car. Someone elses set up could blow a hole in your piston.

I had the same problem with my VPC untill I set the response a little better and mounted the pressure sensor better with the vac line pointing straight down.

Aaron is working on de-stroking a 7m and has a build thread for it. I am finishing up a +6mm stroke kit for the 7m which will be avaliable very soon. Stock rod lenght, custom CP pistons. You can also de-stroke your 6m or 7m crank, but that will cost more than the method Aaron is using.
