    The people's car - SupraMania.com 7m build

I am going to go through with this project of building up a 7mgte powered drag car that everyone involved with can rally around and have some fun. Anyone that was interested before is welcome to jump on board. Let me just say, that this is NOT some selfish ploy by me to get a car built. This is...

    Any experience with ACL bearings?

Not heard anything bad about them. There are really only a hadfull of bearing makers in the world, and clevite does not make all their bearings either. They rebadge some of them from someone else themselves.

My 89 NA broke down again, told needs new engine

Tanya is correct, unless you buy a whole front clip with the odometer intact that shows the kilometers as a low milage set, do not believe that your imported motor is 30-50k mile motor.

Toyota replaced head gasket, should I be concerned?

No, the 102 is the correct year, 7m crank block for this car. The 101 could have a 6m or a 7m crank, depending on if it was a late year or early year production.

Thinking of buyng a precision Lapping Plate

Don't know how I feel about that. Looks like it will be hard to hold onto. maybe just the pics don't show well. The cut side is a mild set up. A more aggresive plate you would just cut the grooves at a 30 degree angle in one direction only. About a .250 gap with a .750 flat

    Turbo A TB and FFIM?!?

When manufacturing pieces, they often just make a run of parts, with little regard for how many will actually be useded in production. Put it this way, they made way more ct26 turbos than cars to put them on. Could be the same with the turbo a tb. Hell, somewhere in the world, there may be a few...

    Very sexy FFIM

All you would have to do is one, then use the same number for all of them. But like me, I think you do it for more than just the money rewards.

    Very sexy FFIM

    Turbo A TB and FFIM?!?

It will cost 185 to 250.00 to bore the stock throttle body, make a new plate, and install, depending on the hourly rate a machine shop will charge. Usually takes about 3 hrs start to finish. oscolivar- If you get a ffim made to fit the "A" throttle body, you can always cut the flange off in...

I noticed that they even installed the correct shortblock- the 102 and not the 101.
