That 4.3L v6 motor is a 350 with the 2 back pistons cut off. Nothing like a 3.8L grand national motor. Stout little iron motor however, just was never intended to be a turbo motor.

No need to unbolt the converter, just unbolt the tranny from the motor and the tranny will slide off and leave the torque converter attached to the flexplate. Then it is a snap to unbolt the converter.

On the bottle (70 shot) I did a 1.7 60 foot. The higher stall torque converter is the big helper, every auto should have one.

My 60 foot times are usually always a 1.8-1.85, You can hear the car a little if the volume is turned up load, but a stock ct doess not make much noise.

Good post Anthony, don't forget that the 80 lbs is just seated pressure. The open pressure is a big factor on springs as well. Not sure what the open pressure on stock is, but the BC springs is 200lbs and the comp springs are 127.

How many blocks with 100k miles on them are still straight? Once you mill the deck, a line bore will correct any run out on the crank. If done correctly, it never hurts anything. Our oil clearance is so tight, that even the smallest twist in the bottom will throw it all to one axis. But I agree...

I would still have the block line bored, and the new crank straightned. As you know, all cranks are bent to some degree. Straighten the crank on the grinder, then line bore the block to match the crank. Just my way.

IJ - why would you not want to line bore the mains when swaping a crank?

How can you not have paypal, its a web based payment center. If you have a computer, you can have paypal.

The real question is " how much hp can I run on the stock internals and turbo" PSI has less to do with power than flow.
