Looking for a reliable/fun daily driver

You need to take out so much stuff to get to the stuff you need to fix. It's like they made it pretty tight, but not overly tight on the GT-S with the 3S-GE, so you can work on it, etc. Then they added AWD, a Turbo, and an Intercooler, plus all the associated plumbing and hoses, etc, etc.

Looking for a reliable/fun daily driver

All-Tracs are great, and in stock form very reliable. That being said, if something does need to be fixed or replaced, it's EXPENSIVE! Even more so if you're not doing the work yourself. For example: Clutch = 16 hours. Last time we had one in the shop at work, the guy basically had them do...

    Part number look up

Usually there will be a 5-digit number, that you can use with 90980-xxxxx to order the connector. I can cross reference it for you most likely in the wiring harness repair guide at work. I'll see what I can find.

What some potential girl's father thinks of my car would never influence what car I was going to buy.

Oil change instructions for men and women

Would you check the rear diff filler plug? That's what an iffy lube left out of our truck when checking the rear diff oil. Needless to say having the rear end lock up at 75mph isn't very appealing.

What do you mean the rest of the car is expensive? Name one part on an MR2 that is a lot more expensive than the equivalent part on a Supra? Or most other cars at that?

Looking for a reliable/fun daily driver

I don't really get what you mean? It's got a Camry engine, probably the most reliable Camry engine at that, there are no real problems with the car, and aside from the engine (which is from a Camry I might add) being mounting in the back, there's really nothing out of the ordinary about them...

It does. I wish those cars were that cheap around here.

Looking for a reliable/fun daily driver

There's plenty of room in an MR2, it's just split up all over the car, you can't fit anything really big, but you can fit a lot of small stuff. MR2's are fun and reliable, especially if you get an N/A. The 4A-GE and 5S-FE are both fantastic engines. They're super-fun. PS: Thread moved.

    89+ wheel cruise control on a 91?

Not 100% sure what you need to know, the 89 steering wheel cruise control is compatible with the 90+ cars, same type of setup. All you might need to do is make sure the same wires go to the same place.

    What's your Supra's Name?

No name, sorry. The only car I've owned that I named is my 87 AE86. It's Señor Poops.

    Weight of a 7M block?

If just looking at the part numbers, the block part number changed in 03/89 for both the GE and GTE, but I don't know if that is actually when the casting change happened. I'd bet it is, but Toyota does casting changes without part number changes sometimes.

    Weight of a 7M block?

I thought the block changed in '90 with the newer crank, no?

Oil change instructions for men and women

For me: Step 1: Drive to work. Step 2: Walk over to service department, say "Change the oil in my car." Step 3: Wait... Step 4: Walk back over to service department, pay $25.00. (Unless I'm doing synthetic) Step 5: Go home from work like usual. Ahh, I love working at a dealership. Plus they...
