I'm with Randy on this. The BIC DDP is damn quiet until the wastegate opens, fits like a dream, and no issues with cracking. Hell, the fit is so damn perfect I have it bolted on without any gaskets, and it's still perfectly sealed.

Already bypassed how, exactly? Solenoid hotwired? Valve wired open? Valve removed? Heater core bypassed?

I don't know about ceramic in this particular application, but I've been using ceramic ball bearings in other areas for a couple decades now, and it's widely regarded as superior to steel everywhere else.

Depends on how fast it's leaking. A small drip won't affect a pressure test.

The W58 uses a push type clutch, the R154 uses a pull type. No, there is no possibility that they gave you the wrong one without you noticing. Sounds like the hydraulic lines have air in them.

I suspect that a charge of 'breaking and entering' requires both something broken, which wasn't the case, a key was used, and entering, which also wasn't done by the sounds of things, a lock was simply opened. Remember, IANAL, especially not in the USA, so checking with one can't hurt anything...
