it wasn't that cut and dry,
Top guy went through 6 engines before he got it "right", but yet with a stand alone and a gpod tune it would have been right from the start.
it is not all about power bud ;) You can make power on a carburated car, but it don't mean that it will drive worth a damn.
BTW that top guy, yeah he made the power, want to take a guess how many motors he went through to get to that point? Exactly 6 engines, so in my opinion that was 5 to...
i will have to harp on what Mike (Supracentral) stated, except I am going to word it without PC'ing it ;)
Due to the cheap nature of most MKIII owners this won't go anywhere as many will not do a maft-pro or what not to save a penny or two. Shame really :(
not really,
it just cleans up the bay alot since the coil wires are very very short or built in. there is Coil on plug and Coil NEAR plug. both clean the bay up well :)
well me and the whole E-85 thing ;) What else, IJ (Ian) running LPG as a fuel. The Megan racing Coilovers and still waiting on HPF to finish the custom cams :) hehe
best tuning software???
Umm noo. There is no "best". What there is is what product segment the ECU fits.
For instance, Go download haltech, motec, tec3 and AEM EMS software and muck with it. Compare to megasquirt. They all do the same thing, but some are more granular than others, Some are...
The gigabuck motec does need an ignitor unless running coils with built in ignitors like the denso 9340, but it supprts full sequential ignition and injection for 6 cylinder operation (m600, m800 and M880).
The Motec CDI8 supports 8 cylinder sequential igniton operation.

forget the q45 TB
mustang 5.0 87-93 Throtle body. Available from 60mm to 105mm. Find them used cheap on the NMRA and most other 5.0 boards.
/tape recording
that is not an AEM EMS is it.
I am well aware that you can run a AEM CDI, HKS CDI, MSD CDI or Motec CDI8 and get the same results. The AEM EMS for the 87-92 Supra itself does not support COP unless it is a 2jz ecu. Add a CDI and you can make that stock ECU do cop......
The ONLY EMS that...
actually here is the neat part (this might get confusing so bare with me)
since the Widebands read Lambda and translate to AFR. Lambda = 1 at stioch regardless of fuel. Meaning Ethanol, Propane, diesel all read lambda = 1 at their stioch value. What this means is that on a Gasoline AFR scale...
ummmmm
Octane is part of the n-tane famile (heptane, hexane, pentane etc.) and more specifically octane is C8H18.
Octane and more specifically Isooctane is the "100" point while n-heptane is the ZERO point (hence the indy cars running toluene as a fuel cut the toluene down with n-heptane...
AEM by itself can not do it unless you adapt a 2jz ECU to the mkiii supra. At which case any other standalone that has => 6 cylinder outputs for both ignition and fuel can do COP.
