Hey guys,
I know someone who apparently needs a new 1JZ-GTE ECU for his 1st gen 1JZ, it's in a Soarer.
I know the Supra has the extra pigtail coming out of the ECU, not sure what those wires are for exactly, but I'd like to know if a Supra ECU can be used in a Soarer.
Thanks!
Jeff
Almost never should you have to use the amount of adjustment they give you from the factory. Correct timing of the CPS should almost be right in the middle of the adjustment range, provided nothing else is messed up. If something else is messed up, you should fix that first. If you've taken too...
Not sure if you still need someone to help you with this, but I think I can probably do it for you. If not I can definitely do it when I pop in at work tomorrow.

The MR2 Spyder didn't meet our crash test standards in Canada when it was released. In late June 2008, they changed our bumper standards to match the USA, as such a lot of cars that could not bet imported into Canada from the USA can now be imported.
Also modifications that used to need to be...
It's plug and play if you use an 89 steering wheel.
If you don't use the 89 steering wheel, you need to swap the slipring for the steering wheel controls from the pre-89 switch to the new one.
It's easy as pie and it basically plug and play.
Works great.

Everything is relative. Supras are pretty hard to work on compared to most Toyotas, but there are a lot of cars that are much harder to work on than Supras. I don't really find MR2's very hard to work on myself, it's actually a pretty simple setup for the most part.
I like working on my AE86...
The header panel never changed from 86-92. They were always the same. If there is no indentation/hole for the emblem, it's been modified.
The "T" logo fit into the same rectangular spot as the earlier emblem.

It's good because it has global catalogs, but doesn't give you all the information like production dates, etc, so it's a bit hard to make sure you for sure have the correct part number.
Still nice to have available though.

All rear half of the shafts are the same.
Then there are 3 front halfs.
R154 5-speed Turbo
W58 5-speed N/A
A340E Automatic Turbo and N/A
The yoke that goes into the transmission is the same size on the R154 and A340E, however the shafts are different lengths.
