    22R FTL. That is all.

22R's are horrible excuses for engines. They're awesome and never die, but they're just terrible. Jeff

    My MR2 picture thread

We never had oil squirters in any 4A-GZE's in North America, they got them for the update in 1990 in the AE92. The 4A-GZE head is identical to the 4A-GE head, in fact, if/when you do the swap, just put the head from the car onto the 4A-GZE, the 85-87 has more agressive cams than the 88+. Just...

injector 1 and 6 not firing

Just in case someone comes across this thread down the line, and is curious. I just want to point out a couple things: 1. All 7M-GTE's have an injector pack, not just 86-88's. 2. They are not on the grounding system. 3. They are connected to the +12V from the ignition switch to the resistor...

Oil Squirters Can be Removed With Crank, IN

All 89's have 6M crank. Early 89's have early mounts. (Up to 01/89). Late 89's have late mounts (01/89+) There was a part number change on the block in 03/89. Not sure if that's when it changed to the thicker type, but it seems likely. Crank changed in 08/89, which coincides with the...

    checking gear size

Yeah you can tell from the VIN. Or you can look at your data tag on the car to get the axle code. Or you can know that N/A's have 4.30:1, 87-88 Turbos have 3.91:1, 89-92 Turbos have 3.73:1. All Turbos have LSD, and some N/A's do too. They're all 8.0" Toyota G-series differentials. Jeff

22R-TE's are cool, but only on a relative scale to how much the 22R sucks. EDIT: Definitely buy it though. Jeff

    Flywheel Compatability

Yes, you need the 7M-GTE flywheel.

What does the vin tell you?

In addition to Jim's post: USA model, 5-speed, cloth grey interior, 3E5 red, has ABS, power seats, and California emissions package. That being said, all Turbos have LSD, and since it's an 89+, all of those have PPS as well, they all have 3.73:1 rear ends too. Good luck with the car! Jeff...

Grimjack made a TTF font of the MK2 and MK3 typeface. Do a search, not sure where they're kicking around at this point. Jeff

What is meant to be here!

I have the Turbo A catalogs, so if you have any questions, just ask. I'll see what I can do. As for the vac lines, even though it was already answered, I thought I'd post anyways, I checked my diagrams, and it looks like (as was previously stated) nothing goes there. :) As for the master...

    N/A w/ r154

The clutch disc(s) can be used interchangeably, but they are different. I don't know what's different, all I know is Toyota sells a different one for each. Jeff

18 was pretty great, though I have nicer things now which is a bonus. 22 now. Jeff

    Speedometer Adjustment Calibration: How To

Speedometer calibration can be a bit tricky, so pay attention! First of all, read everything here, you may not need to adjust anything, you may have other, larger issues. Start with the following: - Check your tire size and make sure it is the correct diameter to read correctly. (Stock is...

    Front wheel bearing adjustment?

The MK2 and other Toyotas do have it set up like that. Though there are measurements for it and not just until they "feel right" though. You torque it and then loosen it off and tighten it until you get the right resistance. Jeff
