    Quote i got from machinist

alright I WAS staying out of this but you forced my hand with this ignorant post. You being a mechanic get "reseller cost" for doing work or getting someone else to do the work. The nice part about being in the business. You get to buy at b2b cost not b2c. as for your reality check...

Can't afford repair costs -- help me!!

have to agree 200k without a BHG incident. But the car was not modded to much (td06 was the biggest thing for quite a while) and I made to sure to tend her daily/weekly. but as Mike (SupraCentral) has stated, if you can not afford the upkeep, which mind you for this old a car is high as...

    Using digital speedometers?

reed based magnetic? not in the dash and the only signal of a mag based sensor is in the r154 and Auto tranny and both are used to feed the ABS computer (not counting the two that are used to read the front right and front left wheels speed). I can tell you with 100% certainty (that how much...

    Using digital speedometers?

4 pulses per rev? what year is your supra? My optical wheel in my 87's dash has about 32 spaces on it..

    Using digital speedometers?

Just for sake of argument I will say, you have the code 42, that "speed" code 42 is the one on the dash that uses the IR LED + optical reciever to read and that is sent to cruise control with a buffered branch to the ECU. It's main function is cruise control. If it fails, the car will still...

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

bub not sure where you are getting facts. It takes roughly about a couple ms for an incandenct light bulb to come to full brightness. if it takes the LED 1 ms to come on that gives a person a 3 ms time which is right around the limit of 2 ms reaction time average. actually not that much...

To the guy with the no pop up head lights

proper what? :) anything with H3 is not propper. Now if he is using the new 50mm setup (which from the pictures he is not).

    Using digital speedometers?

ECU does not do anything "useful" with the speed information. It won't even throw a code ;) The only thing that does use the speed info is the Cruise Control System which is an idependant system from the ECU anyway :)

    Radar blockers

Illegal, it is not a STATE offense no, it is a FEDERAL offence and trust me. It don't take the FCC much time to triangulate source of signal. doubt it. He might have one of those passive non-sense that don't work. Active. Sorry not happening without some advanced understanding of...

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

well that like any electronics... since it is just being adapted for that type of useage. Prices are going to be staggering. See that cars that come OEM with LED tail lights. To replace ONE is around 1000 USD.

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

nothing at all. The advantages of LED though are numerous quicker to light. (meaning the moron that is tailgating in back might actually have a chance in hell of not rear ending you). Longer life (10,000 hours give or take). Less energy consumed. BRIGHTER when built correctly.

    Using digital speedometers?

ok folks the electronic speedo do work. Just as always it is not direct fit. Numerous ways to skin this cat. 1. Use the ABS teeth counter on the wheel for another mag sensor to feed the speedo. 2. Use a ford or Chevy pulse counter and adapt to R154. Feed speedo. 3. Make a 10...

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

sorry easier said then done. It CAN be done (as seen) but knowledge of electrical schematics design is critical and a must. There is a reason the prices are as steep as they are. Takes time to make the layout correct ;)

    E85 gasoline

oohh for about three years now. This fuel for me was not ever for MPG. if 100 octane GASOLINE/PETROL cost as much as E85 I would still go E85 because of the cooling properties and the buring cooler aspect of it. MPG??? Somehow at WOT I doubt 5280 cc/min ( or 5.2 Liters or 2.5 2 litter bottle...

    ISC ? (searched)

the ISC, I think in all my years of owning a supra I can count one hand the number of times one has actually failed. The ISC is not your problem.
