thanks mrnickleye, Is this noise a common problem?
and its that the common cause or the struts?
its almost too cold to be outside or in my shop right now....
no heat. but ill check them this weekend anyways..
good info on that thread, your top link needs a space between...
ya its definately a thump or bump sound , not the hatch squeak that ive read about.. it sounds like its coming from the rear tower drivers side strut but hard to tell going down the rd. cant seem to replicate it parked
the bucket holds water...
omg.. lmao.. great thread..
personally i knew it when i was at the mcdonald drive thru waiting for my food and i looked up and saw all the employees heads were crammed out the lttle window trying to get a look at the supra... :icon_razz
IhI- ya that was my next step, just the thought of someone else driving it makes me nervouse lol
BCG- i looked at them the other day and they are old but seem to make contact well. no play in the hatch when its closed that i can tell. but thanks for the info..
last few days since its got cooler, i hear a bump in the back of the car every time i pass over a small bump.. it sounds like the spare tire or the hatch is loose, but i have looked at both and see no issues, could it be the rear strut nuts or something in the strut area? ive seen threads...
hmmm ok it sounds like your definatly doing it right to me. a freind mentioned to me that cam timing was only needed if more than .050 thous was removed, not sure how accurate this is but thought id share it..
but if he removed and blocked them off completely from entering back into the accordian hose, i dont understand how it dumped oil back into the intake/IC? i guess there are 2 pipes running into the accordian hose, maybe he left the other one pipe attatched?
no, i can tell you this though... they are harmless..the only poisonous spider in Wa. is the black widow and they are all on the east side.. all the others have fangs that cant break through your skin so they too are harmless.. the ones that do bite are not poisonous
i only deal with...
5 yrs as mechanic, 5 yrs as tow truck driver, 5 yrs as HVAC fabricator/installer
now im a certified home inspector/ licensed commerial structural pest spray applicator..
i get bored easily. but i like what i do now
ive been reading all your threads, but you never said how much material was removed from your block and head to justify re clocking cam gears?? just trying to help ya..
ya im curious also, just how much material was removed from the head and block? something sound fishy...all the slack should be on the tensioner side...so it should be tight from the crank up to the intake cam gear..in anti-clockwise..
I just got my car to the point where i can break them loose at 50 without dropping the clutch in the wet....finally....hahhaha just gas pedal.. so no i havent hahhahah,, some day though...:icon_razz i imagine that it could be a bad thing at 100
