I wish they made targa bars that can be permanently bolted in place so you don't have to remove the targa and then bolt in the bars. I cannot wait to get targa bars so I can have fun at the track with the top off.

Only time it's good enough to take the top off here in Houston is when it's winter for 2 weeks out of the year lol. However, when the weather is nice here it truly is gorgeous and I think makes me appreciate it more and enjoy the car with the top off even more but I do hate the wet noodle feel.

I have scoured junkyards in my area and only found 1 that has an 87 or 88 NA mk3 in it and it's picked clean. They are very hard to find in my area but they might be easier to find if I travel south but that is a long drive in Houston lol.

That is another thing I love about MK3s you get more attention than you would expect mine still turns heads and gets compliments and it's nothing special, it's just stock.

Anybody have anymore info? What would also help is laying out the major points like change rods and pistons, harness, use my 7mgte, TT MK4, or standalone ECU, fuel pump, can I leave the head alone other than the exhaust manifold, do I need an FFIM? etc. Something to help guide me a bit.

Damn that sucks my car wasn't driven for 3 years or so before I bought it and all I had to do was recharge the system, it had R134 valves, and it still works like a charm and blows cold especially at night it's freezing.

Word of advice when putting on the timing belt or replacing a front main seal, DO NOT PUT THE TIMING GEAR IN THE WRONG WAY. Make sure you put it on as shown above. Learn from my retarded mistakes.

Mine dim but flicker a little bit as they dim then suddenly shut off they dim for a total of about 5 seconds max before they suddenly shut off.

Yea when mine dim with LEDs it's not as smooth as it was with the old bulbs but it works.
