6 puck with light flywheel makes for interesting starts and reverse maneuvers. Ill be putting my stock one back in when/if i pull the motor for a rebuild.
egt's are good way to know when the timing gets retarded (KR) or if you have shit for gas not to mention give you a good NORM to go by. Mines right behind the oem o2 sensor.
open up the ports on the valve cover and make sure the hose behind the alt. is not clogged as well. I never had oil coming out of mine (that i knew of) until i hit 5700rpms for the first time and it was a smoke show behind me. Dumped oil all over the turbo hot side. To much crank case...
never looked, thats why i asked. scary!
to clarify your symptoms, any amount of throttle (light or heavy) would cause the shudder when passing through 12-1500 rpms?
there should be a port on the liquid filled gauges to vent them. make sure its facing up and pull the cap off. the reading should go back to normal.
i went to town adjusting fp psi up then down before i realized my mistake :)
before i drilled the cam cover ports out for bigger ones i would get that as well. Compensation for a worn motor. It took long runs in boost for me to get enough built up to leak into the filter.
Blowby will turn the oil dark pretty quick as well...
