something about the platnium plugs disrupts the 7M-GTE's Coil pack signal or something like that. It's been a while since I knew the technical reason, but It'll ALWAYS be the first thing I check when a MKIII is missing at all. Jeff

Likely your problem. 99% of all the 7M's I see coming through won't work well with platinums. Go get your self a set of COPPER (read cheap $1.98 plugs). I bet your misfire goes away. It's by FAR the most common MKIII problem I've run across in my years of MKIII work 8-). Jeff

No I'm not sure about the LS-1 and the SR20 weight. I read somewhere that the LS-1 weighed 496 with the T56 transmission, but I never double checked the accuracy of the other poster. I don't really care tho. It weighs less than the iron block KA24 that's in there, and that's all I really care...
