Engine/tranny full weight flywheel, and all accessories weighs 300lbs LESS than
the motor in the 340 (797lbs vs 496lbs)
it actually weighs around the same as an SR20 with the turbo and cast manifolds
etc.
on a coupe, it should make the weight very nice, and a few light weigh mods
the car can...
I decided that a 7M or 2JZ would weigh too much, I'm going to go with an
LS-1 V8 and 6-speed. I figure a very mild 400rwhp all motor, and then maybe
an twin turbo kit if I get bored. But for now it's just sitting outside waiting for
me to pay off my credit cards so I can start the project...
Lots and Lots of products today carry "a lifetime warranty" against defects.
So much so that everyone believes EVERY product carries such a warranty.
Jon's Warranty is 3 months. That's it. 99% of turbo problems show up within
the first month, so making it 3 should cover the bases. MDC...
JT62 is pretty much the best all around street turbo for the MKIII in my opinion.
I've sold lots of them, and everyone who has bought one loves it.

you CAN get more out of a 60-1 EASILY, but it takes more boost. The 60-1
doesn't "wake up" until 15psi. at 17psi, you could easily make 360-375 or more
and if you up the boost more there'smuch more there, for sure. The issue over
15psi is getting the air OUT of the motor 8-). (well that's...
Because I made 328rwhp on a good tune at 13psi with a 60-1 CT-26. So it's
very easy he could make 310-340 (plus or minus -ish) on 10-14psi. It's right
at what I would expect. I know others who have made similar power with close
to the same boost levels. I'd say you could easily do more on...
Ideal 450-550rwhp turbo in my opinion is the 62-1, compressor P-trim
exhuast and a .68 rear housing. Good mix of quick street spool and
fantastic power, and a solid 500rwhp performer. The JT62 is that in a
bolt on for the MKIII, but I also can get it in a standard T04 footprint.
no need to...
JT62 in a T04 footprint, it's inexpensive, and gets the job done.
61.5mm 62-1 T04, with a P-trim exhause wheel, and choose your
exhaust housing .68, .81, etc. $725 shipped, polished, etc.
Jeff
the JT series uses a .81 A/R exhaust housing, P-Trim wheel. All but the
JT56. I can do more custom if needed, but I have found the P-trim and .81
housing are pretty much ideal for the 7M-GTE.

NGK BCPR6ES for stock or lower boosted apps (up to say 10-12psi)
NGK BCPR7ES (colder plug) for higher boost 15+
I think you'll find that running those plugs will drasticly help your ignition problems.
Good luck and let me know how it goes (and they're cheap too), and replace them every
3rd...
