    Proper ARP pre load procedure

What is the proper way to pre load the arp bolts/studs before the finale tq down? I spoke with arp 3 times and got 3 different answers. First chap said to tq them down and not worry about the pre load. Second one said to do 5 pre load cycles. 3rd said to do 3 pre load cycles. One said one...

    Cracked MHG. Cause?

Thanks for the offer but I'd just pull the block and start from scratch if i was going with any sort of MLS^ HKS hg according to my builder. Has the notorious rivets in the same spot compared to the stopper he had on hand.. A MLS probably would seal, but I'm only hoping for 6 months out of...

    Cracked MHG. Cause?

pics, combustion ring is still intact, just separating like it was cut with a cookie cutter (or 7m head :)) Consensus locally is that it was over tq'ed. previous owner may have suspected a small leak and cranked the studs down or simply over tq'ed from the get-go. Head was very...

    Cracked MHG. Cause?

Motor failed a block test (finally!) after quite some time of in-consistent bubbles in the reservoir. There are 1" long cracks following the arch of the combustion ring. The cracks are right in the middle of the combustion ring. I'll get pics up tomorrow. All six cylinders have this. I...

Heater core coolant hose melts.. any tips?

bad thing is with no coolant (or low coolant) the gauge isnt actually reading temps properly. A motor seizing from an over heat will need a full tear down. You may get it started again but I'm betting $$ compression will be down.. Hopefully it's not this bad, but there aren't any overheat/low...

    Maft Pro PTB solution

One of the options on the maft-pro is to use Enahnced TPS. This takes the TPS signal and sends it to the ecu like normal. Once a set threshold is crossed, it sends an altered TPS signal to the ecu. You can set the threshold by either RPM, BOOST or BOTH. How fast it does the signal switch is...

going to look like shit but there are a few pictures of it being done. Search "surveyor" (spends more time on SF). He used an external gate through the internal flapper hole. Seems to work for him.

Oxalic acid flush, created something when neutralized..

UPDATE: After MANY flushes and drain and fills with water/coolant I still had a redish hue to the coolant after the first heat cycle.. There was a film of rust in the passages of the head right behind the thermostat. I got tired of flushing until clear only to have the red hue return after the...
