I'm a fan of "if you don't know what you're doing, then don't touch it". However, cleaning up the ports, and not changing the shape would be something I'd seriously consider.
You WILL NOT be able to time this car if it's not set up correctly. If you have to remove the cam gears, put the timing belt on, and break the bolt free (don't remove bolt), then remove the belt, and finally remove the bolt holding the cam gear. I think the manual reads to not remove the bolts...
I used to think that buying a bike to save gas was a good idea.. then I thought about it. :)
You're going to drop $4k+ on a used 600. Then you're going to insure that thing for $100+ a month, and you're going to need to repalce the tires every spring on that sport bike. Tires are say $250...
I've seen this mulitple times and it seems ot not be addressed..
If you change the turbo, you need ot change the fuel pump. Anything bigger than a stock ct26, and you WILL drop fuel pressure at boost. This is actualy happening on my car, and I already have a walbro. Looks like it's time...
ummm.. you should drop in an intercooler anyway. The stocker is about 60% (IIRC) efficient with a drop if about 3psi (IIRC) at stock boost. You wnat something that's 85%+ efficient for big boost. Also something with minimal pressure drop.
Get a spearco or similar drop in and you'll make...
C'mon.... make this kid happy!!!!
i'm wondering if I can just rip the insert out. i might tear into it tomorrow. Or hell tonight.. I ain't doing a thing...
What you talkin 'bout MDC.. you's *IS* a newb. :)
The great Mike Donohue does it again. I coudln't help but think of multiple threads I've posted in ripping apart the original poster since he didnt want to do any work and wanted the answer spoon fed to him. i think I told that kid that...
The only thing I don't like about the 6.5's in the doors on the pre91s is that I think it muddies the treble. I would like to stick a flush mount tweet just above the speaker.
The tweet on the 6.5 is covered up by the metal door. I might take a dremel to the metal around the door panel...
Just run the loom between the passenger side carpet and the dash, then under the glovebox, and finally behind the passenger side, right most kick panel. You'll have to remove the door kick palte thing (5 screws or so), then the kick panel to get to the TEMS computer. The original TEMS...
I want to change the way my hks ssbov sounds. ANyone got one of those purple inserts they can let me have? Or a recirculation fitting would work too. Anything but that high pitched squeek its got now.
Its played out... wasn't 8 years ago when I got it.. but now.. man. its old.
You need to clip a wire, and give that wire power. I think its a black wire with a white stripe.
Its not entirely a plug and play thing. You need to give the unit a ground, and power. I sold mine a long time ago, and installed it in my own car an even longer time ago. I did an install...
I would reset the ECU by pulling the EFI fuse in the fuse box under the hood. It's problee been running like that for so long that the ECU has made its long term fuel adjustments.
Clearing teh ECU will clear those adjustments and should bring it back to normal.
