This is unture.
They DO get their cars taken away.
There was a guy with a civic that ran and lost to a camaro. The camaro guy is on the net and told the entire story to everyone. He sold the kid back his car for a large sum of money.
It was posted on here or the other supra forum.
I'm not going round and round on this discussion. I have more important things to do than battle this trivial bullshit.
I'm heading over to piperforums to read up on toyota TCCS operation.
FYI, your C to F calc is fucked up. "Google 700 c to F" and you'll see 1292F.
So what temperare equates to what temperature reading? Why use a wideband while a simple and much cheaper narrow band sensor will tell us quickly if we're rich or lean. Since EGT can be used to see a/f ratios this seems usesless.
For good reason???? WHAT IS THAT REASON?? Since you...
donny and jdub. I misstyped "EGT's and a/f ratios.. really have no correlation". My bad. However, this this entire god damn thread.. I've said "influences heavily", "mostly", and "greatly". These words are not aboslutes.
Sure a/f can change egt. But not *near* as much as timing. This is...
AF has SOME effect on egt (note my use of the words mostly and highly, ect) . Obviously it has an effect. You start at 10-1 a/f and go to 11-1 (not to the point where the knock sensors are tripped) you'll see hotter temps. If you start at 10-1 and go to 11-1 AND you get to the point where you...
I could do corrections, but I don't. I run the dials straight up on my afc, and the vpc in order to have an unmodified timing map. Car runs well under WOT and at cruise. Seeing the FJO bounce between 14.5 and 15.5 once the car (oxygen sensor) is warmed up.
This is a basic principle on how...
Ya. That's it. Thanks for reinforcing my thoughts with an earlier post.
Leaning the mixture will not always cause knock.. depends on where you start leaning it from. If you continue leaning, preignition (pinging) happens and the knock sensor pulls timing.
I get this from tuning an AEM...
Why does the forums time say it's 8:48am?? My settings are GMT -5, like everyone else who lives in the eastern time zone.
Any reply to a thread is inserted up in the thread.
Yup I did.. and yes.. it did. I don't think I said "no effect", however. :)
EGT's are mostly influenced by timing. You start to see this phenomenon when you deal with a standalone.
You ask.. why do my EGT's skyrocket when I lean my car out?
EGT's skyrocket due to timing being pulled...
The block oil feed line is a 12x1.25mm. You will need a -4 for oil feed. No bigger than a -4 is recommended. Come would even say a -4 is too big, but I've bee nrunning -4 for about 6 years/70k miles.
The INLET of the fuel filter is once again 12x1.25. I'm not sure on the outlet of hte...
Umm.. I run 43psi static fuel pressure now. Thus.. fuel pressure has ZERO to do with fuel mileage.
The oxygen sensor will see any (as long as it's within 20% of the basic fuel calculation) rich or lean condition and trim fuel accordingly. This will achieve a stiochometeric ratio and you'll...
LOL....fuel pressure and injector size has nothing to do with mph [sic]... air fuel ratios and timing does.
:)
If you run too ruch under normal driving conditions, you'll have terrible mileage. IF you can run a 16.5 to 1 air to fuel ratio, then you'll see an increase in mileage. Of...
Geeze. Use hte breaker bar, and use the handle of hte floor jack. I think a 10 year old kid could do it with that much leverage on the bolt. I've never had a problem doing it this way.
If you don't have time or money to do it correctly.. then don't do it. Obviously, you're getting around town with a car just fine. Keep using that and do this motor properly. If not, you WILL be doing it over.
You need to pull the motor, take the block, rods, and crank to the machine shop...
Eh.. I'd search out some Viton seals. I feel they are superior to stock toyota valve seals. Possibly sealed power makes a set. Maybe it's their premium set or something. It's been a LONG time since I looked into it.
