I don't know what radial oil clearance numbers are considered good, but I'd say it's likely between .004 and .010 inches. That looks to be about quadruple that if not more. I would sell the turbo as "needs rebuilt" as it's much much more than any good turbo I've ever seen.

All the turbos I've ever *felt* the clearance on have been enough to feel, but not enough to easily see. I feel that turbo is no good and has way too much clearance. I don't know if oil can take up that much "slack".

Reg Reimer, an old school 7m tuner, advised me to use the Greddy gasket. He is an HKS dealer. That spoke volumes to me.

One MUST change (or modify) the crank in order to de-stroke a motor. No other way to do it. Stroke is the sole reason the 7m isn't going to be a happy high revving motor.

One way to eliminate the hooting of the Bosch valve is to reverse it. I never liked the Bosch valve and actually went back to the working stock valve about a dozen years ago.

Not maybe so.. It's fact. It's something that can be done with e85 that can not be done with another fuel.

E85 will decrease lag by a few hundred rpm. Meth can not do that. It's the volume of fuel that does this.

That is a T4 turbine inlet gasket. Not a T3.. but a T4. It's the exact same gasket I use on my 40R. Good quality gasket that can be reused.

I don't know if it was blown, but it did get into the other half of the temp gauge keeping up with a blown mustang coming back from a Toronto meet about 10 or 12 years ago. Once we saw 150 on the speedo the temp guage decided to climb pretty quick. After that, the car never ever got hot again...

Wasn't there a shifter for the getrag that would do the sequential shifting as well. Stillwater or something like that? That's been a while ago though. Thinking out loud again.. I know. :)
