I was having doubts of my wheels for my green car were going to fit on a lowered car so I decided to test fit them on my 87.. Its lowered with eibachs.. They fit pretty damn good, no rubbing that I can see, Maybe a TAD at full turn... And despite the tire sticking out of the wheel well a tad...
any in/out is bad.. if there is in/out the turbo will die very soon, or is all ready dead..
The fin on my 87's turbo were bent and it caused it to whine bad.. I broke the bent part off (lol) and it stopped whining.. but its going to die soon im sure, rofl..
it rubbed on bumps and what not going straight.. he had a 245/40 iirc.. They sat flush with the fender though.. MIGHT get away with rolling the fenders, but dunno.. he had eibachs
as for the 10.5 +27 they'll stick out the fender by ~ 1" (when you get a tire) with messing with suspension and...
they wont fit.. my buddy has cobra r style rims on his mkiii 17x9 +24 on the front and it rubbed bad.. and 10.5 w/ a +27 wont fit either.. heres a 18x10 +35 on my car 275 tire (going to try for a 295, probably have to do some fender work/alignment work... car is stock height righ now)

How strong are they? I'm going to probably pick up another supra (turbo auto hardtop) and make a drag car with my pops and brother.. Its going to be pretty much stock for a while (15 psi stock turbo) but eventually I'll probably throw a 50-75 shot on it (maybe 100-125 later). Think it'll hold...
