As I said, there is a few sensors on your thermostat housing, that caused mine to spit and sputter then die. It would run fine for a lil while, then stall, and fire back up on me. It ended up being bad wiring for the ECU temp sensor. I'll get some pics of what im talking about a lil later...
Well I ran into an issue similar to your sputtering one just after I got my car. It turned out to be basically all the sensors located on the thermostat housing having bad wiring. Old wiring was cracked and really crappy. I would definatly check into that. For the guy who is having an...
Thats just your car coming off the cold start injector. It add's fuel until a certain temp is reached and then stops. Its like the choke in older cars. Choke would cut off air to make the car run richer, and the cold start just adds fuel to make the mixture richer. It should start higher...
Im not a maft pro tuner or anything, but have you checked all your connections for the maft pro and wideband? Maybe while moving wires around, you could have either broke a wire, or had one come loose. Do an impedance check on your wires, and see if there is a broken wire or something. If...
Its easy, There is a return line from your FPR to bleed off excess fuel pressure. You can go on summit or jegs, and get a AN fitting, and some braided lines, or even some hard lines and a tube bender to put a hard line in there with NPT fittings. It isnt that expencive, and really isnt that...
What are your HP goals? I would say while you have the motor apart and your doing the MHG, put in a set of cams like the crower 264's that are mild enough to keep it streetable, but a lobe big enough to add some extra HP. You can also use the stock springs and retainers with the 264 cams, but...
Well thats understandable, but at the same time I dont want to chance screwing up a fresh rebuilt motor. I know about the down side to venom, but I had never heard of anyone running the seimens injectors, so I figured I would ask around. But thanks for the info.
Water temp you can replace the stock sending unit with, unless you want to keep it, then BVSV would work fine. Its on the back side of the thermostat, so your fine, and will get an accurate reading.
Oil pressure is simple. Either T the stock Oil pressure sending unit, replace it with the...
Im not quite ready to order them right now. Im just doing my research into how well they are built, and how well they hold up, as well as how accurate they are with their flow. Im not sure what exactly im getting but, I found those seimens injectors, and they are about the best price and deal...
Im looking at a set of seimens injectors from driftmotion and wanted to see if anyone knew anything about them, or was running them themselves. Any feed back would be great, cause im looking at some 680cc from them.
I have found a sensor that comes off the fender well down to the caliper area today as I was messin with my suspension and checking the brakes and calipers and want to find out what it is. It plugs into the electrical harness for the ABS, CC, and AC and think its probably the ABS speed sensor...
Also, you can Build your own manual boost controller for like 15 bux. Google DIY boost controllers. There is one on a DSM website that will walk you thru doing a complete parts list and how to assemble it to get it to work. And the fuel pump rewire is simple, and cheap too. But please make...
Ok from my research (about a year of it now) here is a list of general things you will need to make your 400-450hp goals.
57trim ct upgraded turbo (stock is out of its effective range after 14psi)
atleast a 550cc injector (dont use venom)
Metal head gasket
ARP head studs
lexus MAF
BOV (...
Try the AEM UEGO wideband controller and gauge setup. I think u can find them for as cheap as 250 or so (depending on where u go or who u know). It has the full wideband setup, and the adjustments are made right there on the gauge, so no external boxes are needed to tune it out. Just and...
Im looking to do 2kwik's COP setup but am having a hard time locating some coils to use. Does anyone know where I can find a decent set of IS300 coils to do the swap for my car? Any websites of phone numbers would be great. I want to find some used ones, as i dont really want to put out the...
The fact of the matter is the EGR was not in toyota's origional design of the 7M motor or it would have come on every single one that rolled off their production lines. It was something added to meet USDM spec at the time. Just like cali cars needing dual cat's now and every other car in the...
Oh by the way, After reading your other thread you referenced to, you are way off base on alot of your assumptions. An EGR is in place to redirect the inert exhaust gasses out of the #6 cylinder back into the intake. Which in turn basically smothers the ability for pre detonation by making...
Ok I love your rant here. And I am well over 18. So lets start this way. I have more cars i have built with no ill effects of an EGR block off other than raised cylinder temps. The EGR is designed to flow unused gasses out of your exhaust in the #6 cylinder into your intake which kinda...
