I have the spec stage 3+ it drives really nice.. seems to hold up well.. cept for 1 time (not sure what happened).. I was going through the gears and hit 3rd and it slipped? it wasn't the tires as the speedo was only like 75ish.. tried again right afterwards and it grabbed hard and shot the back...
Ohm the wires for the ignitor.. the tach is driven directly by the ignitor, so I would assume the problem is comming from that area as it was cut.. any codes. I'm not exactly sure waht you mean by flashing check engine light when accelerating?
with 0 correction on the 3 bar it will run EXTREMELY lean!
fwiw 3 bar at 14 psi absolute 0 relative is like 1.7v were as the stock map sensor is like 2.4v
It would be best to get a 2bar to closer match the stock sensor, or just get a stock map sensor..
Yea a clip isn't needed, it makes it easier.. but you can have a fully running 1jz swap for less then 3k if you spend your money right and do the work your self..
you need to get your car done first ;)
I guess I will need to step up my game.. stock twins wont work anymore.. i guess i'll get a 71 or a 74 :evil2:
looking good!
That is up for debate.. both work fine.. its up to you which you want to do.. Many people run dual pumps fine and same with single externals..
What Van Diesel is referring to (I think) is have a single intank pump run into a surge tank (like a 1 gal second fuel tank) from there run a single...
when going for big power, just start out with a better platform.. Yea big power can be made on the 1jz, it can be made on a geo 3 cyl engine... but reap the benifits of having a better platform to begin with imo..
when you exceed the flow of one pump you need a larger pump (to my knowlege there isn't a cheap larger internal pump thats worht upgrading to) so most people go dual walbro pumps.. others go to a single external pump..
a 1jz is nice on stock twins, or probably even a fast spooling single (gt3076r or something).. so is perfect for your goals.. Its a very reliable engine and will handle the track outings you seem to want to do (of course with good cooling and oil cooler).. the lack of big torque from the 1jz is...
how is a 60-1 too small for a 1jz? seriously explain to me why
fwiw, the deal on the 60-1 fell through and I'm just going to put my 67 back on the 1jz with a 3L bottom.. so forces me to get a 71+ for my 2j when I do go single :)
