I peronally love the sound of that BOV. There are only a handfull of ppl I know using this type, and they are all on here. Most ppl that ask you what kinda BOV your running that have any knowlege on turbo cars would probably say something like this:
Person: "what kinda BOV do you got?"
Me...
^ +1 for doing it urself. The only things I'll ever let a shop do to my head and block is the milling and getting them down to RA spec (plus oversizing the valves 1mm ;) ).
Maybe she broke up the first time because the relationship was getting boring to her and she wanted a change? I say this because I get this way too with my women, and yes, women get that way too ;).
Both of you were, I haven't watched the videos, but I remember it from being there. Yours was spewing pretty good when first took off on the dyno at low RPM's, musta been the cold weather or something. It cleared up after you started putting full load on the engine.
BTW: I woulda thought the...
Hey I got an idea! Let's buy a bunch of the shit, turn around and sell it on ebay for a jacked up price, then use that money to buy ourselves new HK$ stopper gaskets!
Those tail lights on that link are teh sex! I would rock the pre 89 tails just to have those! I agree that 1900 is way to pricy though. And did you see what it said on the 89+ tails. Call for info, in other words, MORE MONEY THAN YOU GOT!
I'd say it's from a resonator either in the exhaust piping or the muffler design itself. I'd never hear a NA supra before until that meet, I was quite surprised by the rasp, not to mention all the condensation your exhaust was shooting out of it on the dyno.
Yep, that's some top grade BS right there. That's just a product designed to steal your money. Kinda reminds me of some of the radiator stop leaks, those can be pretty harmful to you engin. The metal flakes adhere to the passages inside the radiator and restrict the flow, and sometimes block...
The newer ones don't have an adjustment screw because people where tightening the old ones too much and compromising the diaphrams. My best guess was that the screw could have been in a little too tight. You may have just gotten one that's like an old motor, you know, where you have to warm that...
I also vote for this thread to be stickied. This is information all of us should be aware of (because most of us will do the HG swap sometime or other as long as we own our supras ;) ).
Dbsupra90, if your getting you head AND block resurfaced and machined for RA, tell them to do the lowest RA...
100% stock... First off, preventative maintenance. For a 12 sec supra (lol BTW) you're def gonna need to get your dad a MHG and ARP studs. You start giving him mods first and the car will be parked with::bhg::
Is it the real deal or a knock off BOV? I've heard of people having problems with the BOV opening when cold, but I've never experienced that when I had one on my supra.
BTW: does the BOV have an adjusting screw on it? Then older model SSQV's did, if it does, try backing out the screw a...
^Well... It just a lil dirty and brown, I just had to point it out. But yeah, useless turbo even for drag racing. The 7m probably couldn't spool it until like 5500-6000 RPM's, then you'd be bouncing off the rev limiter before you even knew you was boosting.
Lol, Mike's car got you wanting a 1J too huh? When he pulled up at the meet and popped his hood I about creamed myself, jk ;).
Mike's (too_stand) car is a really clean example of a 1J swap. Too bad he bought the car like that already though... Lucky bastard...
Lol, good one.
Maybe if you keep the rear fenders, keep the rear bumper, but get rid of all those fake vents and shit, suck in the back bumper about 3-4" closer to the car, then MAYBE it would look ok for the back part. There's no hope for the front...:3d_frown:
