    Mid-range Torque Wrench

90 day warranty with the craftsman. For 60 bucks a pop, i figure even if it dies in two years, I'd still pay less than most other wrenches if i bought a new one. Dumb question for tlo86, what's SK?

    Mid-range Torque Wrench

After getting no responses within my other general thread, I figured I'd post one just for a torque wrench. I am considering buying a craftsman since I haven't found much else short of a snap-on. Anyone know any under or around 150 that'd be better than the craftsman? The craftsman ones...

    The day has FINALLY come...

I got the rotors off and they were about as thin as can be. .828 and .831. WAY too thin to machine. Got new ones from napa(trustop) and now all is well. :) I know they're cheap, but its only a temp fix until I make sure I won't need my funds for any other repairs. ANY RECOMENDATIONS FOR A...

    Is anybody really this stupid?

I get 4-5 of these a week through my school e-mail. Annoying as hell. Some rich bitch is always dying of cancer and handing 10+ mil to whoever is kind enough to respond to her shit.... with their SSN. People that scam people really piss me off.

    Rebuilding w58 cost?

Ya, my bets is on the throw out. Got a second opinion and it was that. I'll have a shop give me a for sure diagnosis, but thanks for the opinions guys. I'm not too worried about the little popping noise.

    Rebuilding w58 cost?

Honestly, I have no knowledge as to how I would check that... :dunno: All I know is when I get on the gas more than 10% or so, the car has a whine coming from somewhere below the console on up to the engine bay. The car was almost out of trans oil when i got it, so I figure its been worn down...

    Rebuilding w58 cost?

Good idea. I may do that as soon as I get my engine tested. I want to be sure to catch a bhg before it eats my engine alive. ;) The tranny is just an annoyance for now, so we'll see.

    Rebuilding w58 cost?

I could afford a few days. A weekend would be fine. I couldn't send it out. Thats why I was thinking more like Aamco or some local shop. As far as the rebuild kits go, I don't have ANY problem shifting. The tranny feels fine to me. It just whines like a bitch. Would new synchros and the other...

    Rebuilding w58 cost?

Ya, I thought that may be the case. And if i did that, I could take apart mine and learn to rebuild it myself! :) (or at least play around with it)

    Rebuilding w58 cost?

PM sent, I agree. I need a supra owner's opinion on the car as a whole too. ;)

    Rebuilding w58 cost?

My tranny is currently the weakest part of my car. It makes a bit of noise when I'm on the gas in most gears. Never 4th, but every other has some noise. The tranny has plenty of miles and had very little fluid when I got the car. I think its just worn out. Any estimate on a tranny rebuild? $500...

    The day has FINALLY come...

Ya, I tried the ford oil, but they didn't have any of the 75-90, just cheap 80-90 or the synthetic 80-90 for 23 bucks a quart. Which exact type is it that you mean? They had a bunch in a catalog, all available to order. None had LSD in the title, however. How exactly do I check if they are in...

Getting Under The Supra...Oil Change, Lift Points

My drain plug is HUGE. its bigger than a 19mm . I'm guessing a 21mm. I used a 15/16" and it fit well.

    The day has FINALLY come...

Duelly(sp?) noted. Although I keep hearing that OEM pads will tear through the cheap rotors really fast. :dunno: Although I Suppose that'd be ok, I plan on getting the OEM rotors and pads either way in 6 months or less. Sidenote: Tranny oil was VERY, VERY, VERY low. There appears to be some oil...

    The day has FINALLY come...

Thanks guys. Ya, I'll be bringing it in for those tests later this week or next. If I do have any issues, I want to get them taken care of before I go off to school in 3 weeks. I got redline MT-90 for the tranny today and royal purple for the diff. (75W-90) Changing those this evening...

    The day has FINALLY come...

Ya, hood struts are among one of the first parts I'll be buying. Others would be -hatch moldings, upper and bottom -door sensors(not a priority) -TSRM(big priority) -oh, and a torque wrench Anyone have suggestions for a decent torque wrench under $160? I'd love a snap on, but I'm on a budget...

    The day has FINALLY come...

Just changed the air filter and holy crap was the old one dirty. I'll post a pic. It was covered 50% in greyish/black. Tranny fluid change tomorrow. MT90 for the tranny, Ford LSD for the diff, as recommended by some writeup one here. *Edit, pic posted. I've never seen an air filter this dirty.
