    engine bay, before and after

Whoa, How'd you get the intake resonator to look like that? It looks much better than mine does when I simply wet it down. It has more gloss.

general questions about my 86.5, what to do and how to do it.

Even if your NAPA test passes you could still have a BHG. That was the case for me. I got the kit, used it many, many times being sure that I didn't have a BHG.... and what happened a month later? I had spent potential BHG money on extra stuff and I had coolant dripping down the side of my...

general questions about my 86.5, what to do and how to do it.

Screw the A/C at this point. Having a good climate control system is worthless if you have coolant in your oil, eating at your internals or simply letting coolant out of the system. A leak down test: http://autos.yahoo.com/maintain/repairqa/engine/ques057_1.html They dont even mention a BHG...

    Thinking of buying some tools.

SHENANIGANS!!!! I got TWO socket wrenches replaced on the spot at Sears within the last 3 months with no receipt. The wrenches were more than a decade old. Almost all my stuff is Craftsman and it's been fantastic. I got the 245 piece set IIRC, as well as a set of wobble extensions, a few...

general questions about my 86.5, what to do and how to do it.

Save money for that sound. It has a reputation for being ruthless on your wallet. Could be a 15 dollar hose, could be a 1000 dollar rebuild. If you're not dripping coolant anywhere, I'd put money on the later. Sorry. :( *edit, Forget fixing the A/C for now. In all seriousness, you should...

    How to Detail your car

Only problem with the write-up is the scratch-x without clay-bar part. I thought clay-barring was a pretty important step, because otherwise, you're just pushing those dirt particles around on the paint surface, potentially scratching the paint. That aside, your paint is fucking incredible...

Wait a second. As I understand it, (someone please correct me if you KNOW I'm wrong) the problem with sanding the block is that you introduce shallow areas. NOT that it simply isn't smooth enough. In fact the composite head gaskets and copper spray dont mind a bit of "bite" when trying to seal...

    power from a NA 7m

You should really get it dyno'd. :) That car weighs as much as my dad's dodge truck and it still pulls like nothing else I've ridden in. I'm very curious to see exactly how much power you're putting down with the MAFTPro well tuned.

    Bilsteins with stock springs

I too would love to hear about this. I tried to find info on bilsteins with stock springs, but I could never find anything. http://www.935motorsports.com/mk3suprasprings.htm Going by the awesome spreadsheet 935 made, I would say stock springs with Bilsteins would be a very firm, positive...

Sanding generally is not a good idea. You can sand away small areas more than the surrounding area and now you have a perfectly flat head surface trying to match up with a deck that has gradual changes in height. Have the deck checked by a straightedge or have a machine shop check it for you.

How to Remove Cigarette odor from Car

If it was just one ime, it'll go away in a few weeks. I smoked a cigar in my car in h/s.(not the supra) and it took a few weeks, but after that you couldn't smell it at all.

    taking engine apart ?

A good set of metric tools is the BEST investment you can make on your car ownership, IMO. Various sockets (10mm, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23), wrenches, screwdrivers, and of course, TORQUE wrench. Extenisions go a long ways, especially the wobble ended ones. You'll also need an inverse hex...
