If you only drained the radiator, then you will be risking some block damage with the block full of plain water. You need to drain the block too. There is a drain bolt under the exhaust manifold.
Isn't cheap antifreeze like ~10 bucks?
Not with higher weight oil...
I'm no expert like the others, but here it goes:
You have a worn engine. Fact.
That engine will show lower pressure than a stock engine. Your bearings have more clearance(or space) between the rotating metal and the static metal (rod and bearing). This...
This thread just convinced me to be more careful with my small purchases. :)
It is really easy to spend a few dollars on lunch on campus cuz its easy, but when I can make a snack for 1.00 that fills me better than 4 dollars there...
Good tips here.
Another vote, for not religious at all, and normally can't stand religious "messages" but that was very impressive and respectable work.
Plus the Forest Whitaker-ish dude speaking sort of drew me in, lol.
HO---LY .........fuck.
Awesome in every sense of the word. And in my eyes, not something a first lady would likely do to gain popularity with the older voting crowd.
Well I started the car tonight after 12 hours at school.... ugh.
Anywho, the squeal started right away. I stopped the car after maybe 15 seconds and felt the belt and pulley. The pulley was extremely hot. So I'll be getting a new one tomorrow. For now the belt is removed and my engine is...
I'll remove it tonight, but on the car it felt normal. Not noticeably hard or soft. :dunno:
While on the car, the belt looks just fine. I can try to post some pics of it when I pull it tonight.
So on my NA I have a nasty squeal that developed on my drive home from work last night. It is most definitely drive belt related, most likely the AC belt. I couldn't tell exactly where the noise was coming from, but it smelled like burning belt(rubber). So I turned the car off and felt the belts...
FWIW, I checked through all subframe bolts and all were tight. The targas have a lot of flex in good working, stock form. I can't imagine how bad it'd be with loose sub-frame bolts too...
First and foremost: Thank you for your service ::salute:: I sincerely appreciate it. :)
The car is gorgeous and you've found the best place for information and help from people that really know their Supras. I've learned more than I ever thought I could and I still know nothing in comparison...
hmm.. I could see if that was an extremely loose pulley perhaps...
Check belts, use a mechanics stethoscope, try to narrow down the location of the noise. Did you try pulling plug wires to check if it is localized in one or more cylinders?
By bearing clatter, do you perhaps mean rod knock? :dunno:
If not how is bearing clatter any different from rod knock? Sounds like a different name for the same disease...
I've been trying to sort all this stuff out and there is one post you need to read abour 4 times over. Go to 7MGE tech section> STICKY> NA-T
you can also search 4cefed on google.
That will show you everything you need to know. If you still can't understand it, then ask specifics here, but most...
