When I do my turbo rebuild this spring/summer I'll be using a nicer gasket set, but when I did my NA 2 years ago I used cheap EBAY gaskets. Brand was Evergreen. None of them leak 2 years later.
If I were rebuilding an NA for myself again I wouldn't hesitate to use cheap ebay gaskets. :)
Dont have time to watch the vid, but I'd imagine it's because the tranny isn't as smooth as he'd prefer.
Sure, it can handle astronomical power quantities, but that doesn't mean it's a "nice" feeling tranny.
You need to remove that. Removing the engine/trans together saves a lot of headache.
Get some real penetrating oil instead of wd 40.
Use a 1/2" drive breaker bar with a short extension. Buy a craftsman breaker bar and go nuts on it. Lifetime guarantee. ;)
Damn, such a waste. Should've at least parted out the car first.
What a waste in the name of "Global-fucking-Warming" and a failed government backed "Stimulus Plan".
:nono:
That's great advice for almost any loss. Always remember the good you were able to experience, not the sadness of its expiration. Nothing lasts forever. :(
Sorry for your loss Enrique, looks like a great pup.
If you find the pic, you HAVE to post it up. :)
Well I'm 23 and still have very basic taxes, but I've always done my own and plan to keep it that way until I get very overwhelmed.
I sincerely feel people lose sight of what your taxes actually mean when you have somebody else do them. I think it's ridiculous when people do their taxes and...
To the OP: Just because your "mechanic" has "built" countless fast Supra's doesn't mean you should be in the dark when it comes to your mods. It's your car so you need to take full responsibility for everything that happens to it. You did have the clarity to ask before doing something to your...
OH! ok, gotcha.
There aren't many CO members so I try to take note of everyone from around here. I remember when you posted a while back in regards to the white mk3 undergoing the swap.
Just didn't put 2+2 together and connect you with Karl. We all gotta meet up sometime this spring/summer.
The "right way" would be the Toyota way. Go by the TSRM link above.
Adjuster's thread is great for assembly tips, but has a lot of "non-OEM" steps in it.
Well I'm pretty sure the oil pressure should read exactly ZERO when the car is off. If you plug in the dash and move the needle to that posiion, then unplug it and put the cover back on, you should be good.
As far as the gas gauge goes... well you will find out when its at empty when you...
I don't know if you could have that little vacuum just due to timing if the car still runs/"purrs". Do the breaks work better when it's still in gear and you're moving?
You said, you had an engine light on? What is the code?
This reminds me I should really replace a few of my main power wires. Old brittle wiring is no good.
I don't know if I'd try to solder the alt wire back together. Just get a new section of large gauge wire and crimp on new connectors.
