    SupraSport under new ownership

Id love to see them offer the products they currently do (or at least try to), but this time hopefully with some customer service thrown in and timely deliveries. Agreed on the bad name reputation... The new owners have some persuasion ahead of them, lol. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

Question for all you stereo guys out there

Ah, good to know. Upon some quick research, it seems I've greatly overestimated the holding capacity of the audio capacitors. Thanks for the info Dan! :) I need to upgrade my wiring regardless when I do my harness this winter, looks like I can add this to my list of to-dos. Sent from my...

Question for all you stereo guys out there

How would a capacitor not help? I realize a beefier battery/alternator and good robust wiring can eliminate the noticeable current draw when the sub hits, but I dont see how you could say a capacitor wont help. The capacitor stores potential. That potential is saved up and ready for when the amp...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Well they kinda go hand and hand. Without the exhaust, the boost controller will show you the limitations of the stock exhaust fast. I'd say the exhaust should definitely come first. :) and raptor racing makes an exceptional product! A downpipe/elbow is crucial. I love my divorced downpipe...

To buy or not to buy SC300?

Agreed on the huge risk. On the last 3 cars I've bought with the intention of flipping, two have cost about double to fix than what I estimated. They also had low mileage, this one does not. :( I have *some* time, not a lot. As is evidenced by my mk3. I have a big laundry list on that car...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Yes, but not as much as you might think. The big difference came when adding the boost controller and having it keep the wastegate closed until 6-8 psi. That helps a ton. The boost hits hard and fast. It reduces lag a ton. Very much agreed. Springs/Shocks are the next big purchase. :) I'm...

    Bilstein with stock springs?

There are a few aftermarket companies that make good lowering linear springs. I believe the Tanabe and Whitelines are linear. Possibly ST and Intrax as well.

To buy or not to buy SC300?

Hey guys, I have a decision and I'm on the fence. I'm asking the SM crowd to weigh in and help me out. I have an opportunity to buy a clean, stock 1992 sc300 auto with 220,000 miles and a BHG, according to the current owner. Asking price is ~$1000. I'd be buying the car to flip and gain...

Congrats and welcome! Good luck, post some pics and remember, the best mod on these cars is basic maintenance... Haha. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

Question for all you stereo guys out there

Thanks man. Look out for independently lit led needles in the next week or so. I have a set completed on my spare dash, just need to get it all back together and it'll be added to my lighting thread. You could have blue needles and red gauges, white needles and red gauges... Etc. I'm doing red...

Question for all you stereo guys out there

When I worked at best buy, the install crew always said a capacitor should be used with a sub. Thinking about it, I totally agree. That piece of equipment is adding a large, instantaneous draw of current that your car was never built for. The stock sub amps in most cars, I would think, have a...

    Hello SM... from Denver, CO

Hey, Welcome! I'm in Westminster if you ever need a hand. These cars are a blast and a work of art with the right amount of TLC. I dont know many other local owners, but there are at least a few. Sounds like you already know, but dont cut corners with these cars. They're not difficult to build...

    The Black Widow mk3

Good looking start and good luck! I love buying cars when they're dirty and cleaning the hell out of them to see what lies beneath. My white turbo was sooooo dirty when I got it and it cleaned up amazingly well.

How much have you spent on your MkIII

I think I'm at $10k including car cost. I've owned it 4 years now. Still have a long ways to go. Probably another 10~15k down the road if I keep the same chassis. Those who say its a "poor" investment, just compare it to buying a new car, financing it and making payments. In that sense a supra...
