Easily the ugliest interior in Supra. Ever. Possibly the ugliest interior period.
30k in parts? I would be absolutely astounded if anybody could spend 30k in parts and end up with that. Does he have another 20k in parts sitting in the trunk or something?
While I may only take my car to the theoretical 1/2 critical speed a couple times, those times are exactly when I'd pay just about anything to ensure my ride is as sound as possible. Single piece driveshafts may be perfectly balanced upon shipment, but what about 60k and 5 years later? That's...
I haven't gotten a name, which is kinda weird, but oh well. I've received good, thorough responses, but oddly enough no name. Titan Motorsports is an authorized vendor of Driveshaft Shop. I suspect very, very much that the Carbon shaft from Titan is made at DSS's place. The pricing on DSS...
Figgie,
That says 75% of critical should not be exceeded. Using that logic, even a basic 3" single piece aluminum is good to ~150-180mph in a mk3. I've heard people say 1/2 critical shouldn't be exceeded, but i can't find any reliable source for that. :dunno:
But then I'm still left with a...
^Yup. If that's your stock BPV (bypass valve) it's toast and needs replacement.
You can use a Bosch BPV as the easiest replacement. That's what I ended up doing and it's been great.
That'd be good if you can update the noise factor with a quiet exhaust. My big concern with the onepeice right now is noise.

I only plan on ~350whp max. The 50 trim should be plenty capable of that and will have the least amount of lag and the lowest boost threshold. Sure the 57 trim is the same price, but why get if I'm never going to use it? My whole car is designed to hold ~350 whp at most. Clutch, HG, trans...
Have you driven your car with the one-piece? can you hear anything from it?
In talking with DSS, they seem to steer clear of any kind of OEM modification. I asked about it and they keep telling me they can do anything, but my impression has been that they would offer a 100% brand new 2-piece...
So my mk3 has a ton of slop in the stock 2-piece driveshaft. If the rear section hasn't already twisted, it can't be far off. I have the stock w58 DS with ~325k miles. The last 15k of which have been with a turbo motor tearing at the axles.
I need to replace the driveshaft with something new...
Basic maintenance and smart, smooth driving.
Most any mod or tuning will takes tears to pay off with your minimal gas savings.

So... New trim and clips should do it, right? Not sure if I read that right, but I thought replacing the back lower trim and clips was critical.

Uh... You certainly can have better filtration and flow. You're over simplifying this waay too much.
As an exaggeration, picture one piece of 8x11 paper. Now poke one, single pencil hole through it. That's poor flow and filtration. Now, picture the same size paper with billions of fine holes...
Just finished retrofitting my AC system. Blows nice and cold.
New compressor
New expansion valve
New drier
New o-rings throughout
680 grams of R134 with UV dye in one bottle
~150-160 ml ester oil
New valve cores
JUST finished my retrofit! Blows Ice cold at idle with R134 and my regular stock condenser! :))
I haven't put a thermometer up to it, but it was uncomfortably cold in the cabin with the car in my garage with about 85 ambient temp. We'll see how well it does when it's 105F out in the sun. So...
