Car almost stalls when shifting ?

One more vote for blow off valve here. Very simple. Metered air escapes, car thinks that air is going through engine, adds fuel, now its way too rich and it dies. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

WHERE to buy flux for soldering wire

This came up recently at my work with my co-worker (manufacturing engineer who previously specialized in electronics) and his take was soldering was decidedly better. One of his backing points was that all the work he'd ever been involved with for spacecraft used solely soldering and no...

    7mge-7mgte Swap Computer Questions

Meh, I can see his side. I don't want to be a mechanic, but I'm happy to do all the wrenching on my car all day long. A supra owner does need to be OK with a lot of mechanic work though. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

    Buy or Rent Spring Compressor?

I didn't know this question would get anybody recommending to take it to a shop. Or people recommending to just use an air gun or stand on it. You guys are funny, haha. The dude standing on the spring to compress it (by the way, how heavy ARE you? You mustn't be compressing a stock spring by...

    Buy or Rent Spring Compressor?

I'd certainly fix my own electrical panels! I'm a manufacturing engineer who designs, modifies, and creates tooling and procedures for a living. I rely on my ability to learn how to do something and perform potentially dangerous tasks in a safe and reliable manner. At home, if I don't own the...

    Another Noob Question...

Science and Engineering. I'm no engine design expert, but here's my take: The only reason to have a FFIM on these engines is to allow room for a larger turbo or to keep your intercooler piping on one side. Toyota built the motor like it is for a reason. Notice how the 2JZ GE still routes over...

    Buy or Rent Spring Compressor?

Hello friends, I'm going to be doing some suspension work on the Supra this winter (planning on Tokico HP and Eibach springs) and I'll be doing some stock replacement on my MR2 this fall. I'll need a spring compressor for at least the MR2 and the Supra if the Eibach springs are long enough...

    Divorced Downpipe vs Bellmouth/Widemouth

Divorced creates much more surface area and distance which could allow the gases to cool more before being combined into the 3" piping. I can't see how a basic wide mouth would keep up with a real divorced pipe. Not to mention, Yota used a real divorced on their group A car as well, I believe...

Suspension Advice for a Cruiser/AutoX Car

I'd look at Tanabe as well. Not a ton of drop, if i recall correctly, they may be linear, which is good for auto-x and reliable handling. Since it isn't a huge drop, it'll be daily friendly as well.

    Who watches NFL?

Yeah, I've been watching a lot of games and it's noticeably worse. I'd be interested ot know the details of the situation. right now, I don't think anybody knows exactly what they're arguing about. It's very clear, however, that you cant just bring in any old college officials and expect an NFL...

    H&R springs too low

Ah, gotcha. Makes sense. Those springs always look best for a non-daily or a super flat and clean road system. I don't imagine typical Colorado roads would cooperate. :( Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
