Head modification for more oil return

"At the source" is tricky. Your engine will always have some blow by and a need for a PCV system of some sort. I'm not aware of a way to bypass that need completely. Assuming that, you can focus on reducing complexity of the trap system. That being said, if OEMs could accomplish it simply...

    Be Careful

Yikes. With most any old sporty car I think you have to be prepared to do a lot of work on it. Mk3 or otherwise. Seems like you've got your head on straight so take it as a learning experience. My advice: if you want the cars you're talking about you need to become your own complete mechanic...

    Mk3 supra intercooler

Looks small and inconvenient. Pass on it. Get a pepper one.

I am at the point that i think all N/A supra guys have been to at some point

Yup. Sadly a swap means you're trusting a lot of random strangers with many parts as it's not practical to buy most the parts new. Many aren't even available new. That being said if you have a lot of time to do it and a flexible budget you could certainly do a clean GTE swap without too much...

    400hp or bust

If you have all the other hardware to re-use (valves, buckets, shims, etc...) that's not terrible. My machine shop charged $100 for a head they had lying around. It wasn't clean, but it was tested good and I was having them clean and do a valve job anyways. If you can, have it hardness tested...

You didn't get that punch line? Hilarious! I always heard it like this though: ,n ; I 5 Maybe his version is newer. Can't keep up with kids these days...

I am at the point that i think all N/A supra guys have been to at some point

I've owned my NA chassis car for over 7 years now. At about year 2 I wanted a turbo in it. I'd owned a couple other turbo mk3s as project cars and it's just a night and day different feel to your drive. Anyways, I started saving and building a list of parts. I stumbled upon a cheap GTE on here...

    W58 Pilot Bearing

Removal tool is universal. Pilot bearing is not.

    Center Support Bearing

I've got one of these in my car now and it's been great. No modification necessary at all. $30. I'm a few thousand miles in and about 6 months with no issues. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/ANR0/6062.oap?pt=01418&ppt=C0362

    W58 Pilot Bearing

Use a new bearing. Reusing is a bad move. clutch alignment tool comes with any new clutch or can be rented/bought cheap. No advise really needed on centering the clutch disc. Put the tool in, put the clutch disc on over the tool, install the pressure plate. I haven't been following your other...

Supras In Vegas (SIV) 2014 -Sept 19 to 21

Don't think I'll make it this year, but anyone that can should make it out there. When I went in 09 it was a blast and I didn't even have a nice Mk3 to show off. It's an awesome experience for a supra fanatic (or just a car guy).

88 Turbo with 55k - all stock, orig owner... thoughts?

Also keep in mind once you're past ~50k or so mileage doesn't mean much. If anything it can be bad. It means it hasn't been driven and many wear items are likely worn from age. I'd buy a 200k car well maintained over a 50k garage find anyway, unless you're getting it for a steal as a non...

88 Turbo with 55k - all stock, orig owner... thoughts?

While that looks clean, it's not perfect. It's not a museum piece. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 from the looks of it. I would never pay more than 5-6 grand for a stock pre 89. If that was a 91 or 92 then I'd go for it. Pre 89 loses a lot of value, IMO.

My Other Car Hobby - Tall n Slow

Living in Colorado means you're not far from stunning scenery. Here's some examples of the places you can get with a basically stock 1999 Land Cruiser that not many others travel to. More to come in the future. Kingston Peak, above timberline. Very cool to see for tens of miles and not see a...

    Bore Size for Composite HG?

You *can* get away with cutting all kinds of corners on a build. However, it's generally not worth the risk. Using an MHG on a non-machined deck is Russian Roulette. It might be fine, it might blow right away. A composite HG (Fel Pro or OEM) will seal correctly much easier than an MHG with no...

    power sag at 3200 rpm

I'm on a 50 trim ct, 3" exhaust turbo back, stock ic, 11 psi. I don't notice any power sag. Your datlog is interesting. It would be neat (and maybe meaningful) to plot various parameters vs load (load as the x axis). Using excel you can easily get the correlation value too, if its not visually...

Coilovers or Shock/Springs??....keep in mind, I'm broke.

Good input from some Megan owners. I think daily driver or not makes a huge difference. If it's not a daily you can live with a much more harsh ride and a lower quality/shorter mileage lifespan. Those of us who put 5k or 10k+ miles on the car per year have a different set of needs than those...

Coilovers or Shock/Springs??....keep in mind, I'm broke.

You should remove option 3. KYBs on lowering springs will not last. I'd vote for option 2. Option 1 would get you a new suspension set-up, but with relatively cheap components all the way around. I've never driven on Megan EZ Streets, but the price point is worrisome. How can they make an...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Car looks great man. I love the white mk3s. I have the stoptechs and they perform well, but produce a large amount of dust. My wheels get pretty well coated after 1000 miles. That's my only complaint about em.
