Hey guys, I'm interested if anyone has recommendations for reasonably priced sensors and/or logging systems for temperature and pressure. I work with and am familiar with industrial measurement instruments, but I'm not familiar with anything in the ballpark of what an amateur would spend to do...
I'd vote for a standard oem head gasket unless you plan on going turbo. Use arp hardware torqued to their specs (80-90 usually).
The MHG is overkill for an na and requires more precise machine work.
If going OEM, any decent shop should work. If going MHG you should be a little more picky about...
Welcome. Any area of Colorado in mind for when you move? I'm on the very edge of North Metro Denver now (Thornton/Dacono), but I've lived in a few different cities in CO.
Damn, after spending a year leading to ride I still think it's nuts every time I see a bike go more than 45 degrees sideways.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
It sounds like you have a lot going on. All those efi mods make troubleshooting more difficult, especially when you had some issues even before the mods.
51 can indicate the tps is still not right and the ecu may not think you're idling.
The home made gasket, butt dyno results, and lack of...
Go here. Control F and type "safc". Tekdeus got over 500 whp.

With the Lex AFM and 550s looks like 450 is plenty possible with a bigger turbo.
You may want to familiarize yourself with the concept of wear items and non-wear items. Freshening up a mk3 is a great idea. Replacing non-wear items for the hell of it is strange until you have a phenomenal car and a large excess of money.
Upgrade smart. Replace items that will provide some...
Yes, definitely reset your timing. 20 is way too advanced. Back it off to 10 with the terminals jumpered and slowly advance it form there if you really want to. Personally, I'd just leave it at 10. My idle gets less and less smooth the further from 10 I go, plus you've got a few other...
Here are some pages with semi-helpful info regarding the 25 year rule. Still sounds like CA can say you're SOL. All the more reason to move. ;) Even in CO, however, you need to get it "ok'd" by an official who may tell you that you need EGR equipment, etc... Other states don't have those...
California is awful for owning a specialty, imported, modified car. I've turned down job interviews there because of the car laws. Mine is nowhere near CA legal.
My perception is that those who own cars like that do one of two things in California.
1. Bribe an official to get it "passed"
2...
I'm not sure how you're hitting fuel cut so easily with the lex AFM. Something doesn't seem right. What kind of boost are you running now?
