Personally, I'd prolly do the short shifter mod, and use a larger shift boot,
so that it'd look a bit more at home. And as for the grill, I would also suggest
some sort of chrome or billet insert to allow airflow, but close up the hole,
as previously mentioned above. AND- paint the IC black.
Saw this a while back, thought it was relevant.

I'm really sorry, man.
And that's just a kick in the nuts about paying storage fees.
"Hey- some guys stole your car and drove it for a while, but then they needed some cash, so they stripped the cool shit and sold it. If it wouldn't be too much bother, could you just go ahead and pay a thousand...
My first ride in a turbo was a black 87 targa 5 speed, and I was shopping for my first Supra. I gave it some throttle, and thought, " hmm. That's nice I guess". I think the car was only making like 3 psi, so it was nothing impressive, so I figured if that's as fast as the turbos are, I'll just...
Was gonna say the same thing. Almost every set of ex. valves I've seen had hard white carbon(?) buildup. I found it WAY too tiring to try to grind it off, so I just got new ex. valves.
I've never opened or closed my doors by the glass, and hardly ever is there someone in the passenger seat, yet they're both worn equally. Gotta inspect it more thoroughly though, to see where things are going wrong.
Edit- Just had a thought- if the windows themselves are pressing against the...
You know- I made adjustments to both of mine, and I also replaced the felt guides with new dealer parts, but still have way too much in/out play to mine. I gave up.
OK, I just woke up, and already I've learned something new!
That means I can be dumb for the rest of the day...:biglaugh:
I didn't know that the Lexus karman sensor was plug and play to the Supra harness, I guess because I always heard of people putting the Lexus MAF body in, but always...
Is it just me, or does that look like a pre-89 nose?
It's hard to tell, but they look like the earlier(longer) style of turn signals.
I dunno. Looks like it's 89 everything else.
Well, this may sound dumb, but just check to see if any grounds of the harness are not secure. The deal with your boost gauge- that's obviously an electrical problem, like a bad ground.
Any you? Lexus electronics in a stock Supra MAF???
I'm confused here. I thought you're supposed to use 7M electronics(so the ECU can cope) with the larger flowing MAF body from the Lexus???
If this is the case, I think I can see why you're both having problems.
Someone help me understand!!
Oh my...and yes, an 84mm headgasket would be fine, and like was said already, don't look for a thinner head gasket. Sounds like you want about a 1.4 or 1.5mm headgasket, if very little material was removed.
Wow.
Everyone's already said it here, but that is awesome.
I would also like to see some sunlight photos of it, especially once it has its mouldings on.
At that point, I think the car is going to be Amazing. Go park it in the middle of a Ferrari meet, and see where everyone gravitates to...
At the start of next month, I'll be over on the lawrenceville/ Winder side of town as well, as I'm moving there. So keep this thread posted about any future meet, as I'll be happy to drive my ugly-ass work-in-progress over.
:naughty:
Looks good. I personally didn't like the PBR ultimates, though.
They made way more dust than any other pad i've used, and squealed all the time up front.
I went back to metal masters.
