    knock warning light?

Signal IS the ground, if I'm not mistaken.(Where's Jet jock?) But I dunno if the knock sensor circuit will cause an led to flash

    Subframe bushings?

You still retain the subframe bushings. I'd imagine most of the stress goes there. The oem subframe spacers' main role is to reduce noise and vibration for the occupants.

Some fun with the supra last night

LOL. I was thinking it would have been awesome if you took out the camera on your first spin! PS- editing software on your computer would allow you to delete the part where you're running back and forth to turn on and off the camera. otherwise, cool.

coolant being pushed out only under load

It almost sounds normal. If coolant is being pushed out by combustion gasses, that would mean you could test for the presence of those gases. And IF you have a leaking HG, I'd say it might be solved by a retorque. Not that your bolts might have stretched, but your MLS HG might have compressed...

    Car Sputters While Accelerating

I would never get mad when someone reports the reults of a fix. It pisses me off when the community bends over backwards, analyzing someone's issue, offers suggestions, and we never hear from the thread starter what the result was- it doesn't help the next guy who has the problem. THAT'S why we...

    DrDucttape's 1988 MKIII Project

My turbine housing is cracked in the same exact spot, no issues.

    code 52 struggles.

Well, the low afr's might cause the misfire, or the misfire might result in low afr's(unburned fuel= rich). What are your plugs gapped at?

A little custom body work .

Looks great. Are you going to reinstall radiator mounting points?

    My MKIII Build

Very very nice. I gotta say, I love the wrinkle finish on the timing cover. I was planning on wrinkling the valve covers and intake manifold, but now I think I'll include your example.

    DrDucttape's 1988 MKIII Project

That isn't that uncommon. I would say use it, and only replace it if you find an issue once its running. The backplate is necessary to determine cam timing.

    code 52 struggles.

Wait- does it feel like a misfire? Like you're losing a cylinder? If so, sheck all your plug wires, and make sure you didn't get any coolant/ water down in the spark valley. It'll cause a misfire under load.

    Piston decision.....

I searched youtube for videos of 'crankshaft balancing', and every single video I found except one, was of inline cranks with bobweights, so... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvgVI2PTKzI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UNLrXUL49w&feature=related Supra crankshaft:- 6M...

    harmonic balancer question/issue

It doesn't sound to me like the pulley is the bulk of your problem. I would assume that the total material lost on your pulley would be less than 3-4 ounces, 6inches from the centerline of the crankshaft. At 2500rpm, I think this would be a small vibration, not enough to make your shifter act...

    code 52 struggles.

Yup. Well, to be more specific- It's going to retard the timing way back, and you'll have poor combustion, which can cause a rich condition. PS- Have you checked your coldstart injector? they sometimes stick open, and this will not throw a code.

    Subframe bushings?

    Piston decision.....

Ah-ok, that makes perfect sense now about the bobweights representing the new piston/rod combos. I assume that any rod/ piston combo I end up with, is going to weigh less than the oem? I assume that forged pistons will be clearly heavier than stock, but will the rods weigh less? I have...

    Piston decision.....

On a different subject, IJ, is it sensible to have my crank rebalanced? Obviously, the factory did some balancing, but was it adequate for higher powerlevels? Also, how does using forged rods/ pistons affect the need for balancing? My understanding is that dynamic crank balancing is performed...
