    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Thanks for reading, Ev! Had a little bit of a scare tonight... Was hunting around Driftmotion.com's website for a few things I need, and saw that they sell dowel pins for aligning the head to the block... HOLY CRAPBALLS!!! DOWEL PINS FOR THE HEAD!!! Did I install them? I can't remember... Are...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

So today was just a little bit of fiddling around with little stuff, and taking note of what gaskets/ fasteners I still need. When I pulled the old motor, I dumped alot of tranny fluid on the floor, and though the kitty litter soaked it up, I was getting tired of the stank, so it was time to...

    Bogwon's 87 7M GTE project

Hoses look good. I'm in the process of installing mine as well. Mine are the generic Ebay silicone full-engine set that a number of people on here have picked up. So far, they seem to fit nice and tight, and are shaped properly to replace the originals.

    Clunk and Ping Noise

Sounds like the whining could be from the differential. fresh fluid *might* help.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

No, there won't be a 3000 pipe. I'll be using a Driftmotion intercooler kit, so it'll replace that section.

Couple of pics of the manifold in place. Still have to sort out some of the coolant hoses. I can't figure out which are for the throttle body, from the silicone kit I got.

Glad to hear that your motor is running so good. Keep us posted on how you end up getting that tint off. I'll have to do this myself soon.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Thanks for looking guys. No, there's no benefit to the black powdercoating performace-wise, but using a powdercoat finish makes it very durable, and means i dont have to keep the aluminum polished, and also would hide any dirt smudges. I had read someone else's build thread years ago(couldn't...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

So... I went over to my buddy John's house a couple days ago, and got some more work done: Along with the intake, I also did a few small brackets and support rods, as well as clearcoating the coolant piping. Tomorrow should see the final assembly of the engine. Then it's on to the clutch/...

    Sleepy Eye/ Projector Build

Fair enough. I just went this route becaus i had a spare set of headlights.

    Sleepy Eye/ Projector Build

OR, you could have moved the pivot ball on the motor's actuator arm in about 1" inboard, and not have to mess with the rod at all. This changed the distance that my headlights moved by half, and they didn't slam. I plan to redo my headlight system after my engine work, so that i can swap from...

Push release injector clips, do they fit?

They fit without mod, except for injector #1 in my case. I had to: A: Remove the small bracket on the fuel rail, that's held in by one screw. B: Slightly dremel about 1mm of aluminum from the fuel rail. Both mods took about 2minutes. Here is the entire thread that I had made...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

No, it's a no-name brand. If a replacement can't be found, I'll just buy another flywheel.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Well, that was a bit messy. Separated the tranny from the engine, and found that I had really chewed into the flywheel. It's a replaceable insert, but I dunno how hard it's going to be to get one. Gotta start google'ing.
