my heater does that eact same thing... strange, i have NO symptoms of BHG tho (I just replaced it)...very wierd...maybe clogged heater core?
Gottoyota: Hmm, pressurize the cooling system, and check for leaks, if there aren't any...then you have a BHG.
make sure all connectors are plugged in, and check the igniter...
Also, make sure to check the condition of the wiring, a wire may have broken off from a connector if the car was being worked on, this was the problem i was having,...
i doubt that it's rodknock, if it were, wouldn't the noise be constant? I am guessing it's just a worn cam lobe (or bearing) around cyl 5 or 6, caused by a lack of oil and because of the extra clearance it will move slightly and tap either the shim, or more likely tapping the cam against a...
you will most likely need a new speedo cable, get it from the dealer, or Jay Marks if you're willing to wait, and it is a PITA to replace, end of transmission... (lol, pardon the pun)
well said ^^
Figit: If you don't plan on staying with the Supra long term, then don't waste our time, and I'm trying hard not to be a jerk ;). If you want to stay with the Supra, you have to recognise that it is quite old, and as any other car would be, is prone to age-related issues...oh...
lmao at everyone here!
You know you're an NA owner when you go to cut-off a camry driven by a girl casually talking on her cell phone, but you just can't accelerate fast enough, so you give up...:( LOL...ask me how i know;)
ugh, I have searched AND searched, and I can't seem to retrieve that page...I read it sooo long ago (almost two years ago)It basically explained the problem you're having, and IIRC, It was due to oil not reaching one of the cam lobes right away (like on startup), due to excessive wear on the...
haha, thanks for the compliment ;). It's nice to know someone thinks it looks decent, I don't even remember those cars being there when I left my car to walk over to the BBQ...lol. When I left, there were two other BONE stock pearl targas just like mine parked where those guys were in the...
yea, mine was pretty much bare metal in the front and back, I took the ghetto way out and used a bottle of black touch-up paint all the way around, and on the windshield wiper arms (bare metal too) It also doesn't look that bad...just a little glossy, don't use the flat back one though... it...
i have heard of this, it has to do with the cams, and the tiny oil passage in a cam lobe being clogged or something, I remember reading this somewhere, and I have also heard the sound you described in person while I was shopping for supras... I am willing to bet SERIOUS money that this is the...
umm, are you SURE it is white? If it were the turbo creating the smoke it would have a bluish tinge to it, if it IS in fact white, then you have problems...observe and report back!! :)
this was all that i could find, I remember someone was selling them from some obscure website, but I don;t think they are anymore... Maybe the link will work for you... www.historyofcars-t.com/ items/7950082430.html
