I'm guessing the car has the clutch safety switch?? (i.e. car won't start w/out the clutch depressed)...just like the Supra has? I think the car was in first gear, he pushed the clutch in to start it, and thinking that nothing would happen, he let his foot off of the clutch, and when the car...

Just take out the shifter, and fill it from there...much easier, and you get to sit on the comfy seat, instead of being on your back, with gear oil all over yourself.

Ugh, you NEEED to replace the radiator if it has cold spots...it should all be hot, that means coolant is flowing through it...So when it has cold spots>no cooling>engine overheating very quickly.

An smoke out of the exhaust? What you described is exactly what my BHG did...but I would replace the thermostat, and pressure test the cooling system before going any farther...Your coolant is going SOMEwhere...you could have a leak...
