I have found that the stock boost gauge is incredibly slow to react...like my aftermarket boost gauge will show full boost (11psi) when the stock gauge has just hit 4psi and is slowly rising...and it is usually 1-2psi off... But if you haven't hit fuel cut yet, then you are somewhere between...
Yea, it will not cause spiking, unless you are using a shitty valve...I have about 4 feet or so of hose connecting mine...and I have been running 11psi with no spiking or issues. But then again, I am using a Grainger ball and spring valve... Is yours the one that Dr. jones sells?
You should make the vacuum lines longer, so that you can adjust it more readily...like maybe on top of the fender? I have mine tied to the AFM housing bracket.
I changed my spark plug wires, and put in a new ISC!!
The 7M is still missing slightly at idle and while cruising though, I think i need to solder some crimped wires for better connections in several places...I'll post some pics tomorrow!
I saw stan's car in person...Turbo spools nicely, and doesn't make any weird sounds...and most importantly THERE WAS NO SMOKE AT ALL...oil level was fine...I checked it myself.
The 7M just has some strange tendency toward getting rk...ask Mike T from SoCal...his 7M which was fully built by...
The oil in the valleys is caused by leaky valve cover gaskets...the oil you saw on the tops of the pistons was likely oil that had collected around the spark plug, and then drained into the CC when you removed it. Don't worry about it TOO much if it isn't a large amount of oil.
And I STRONGLY...
I wasn't happy with my Supra for the longest time, because of all of it's problems...but now that I've gotten almost all of the little problems ironed out, and I've started upgrading...I couldn't be happier!
If i were you, I would swap in a 5-Speed, and do all the BPU's.
