    Computer Guys!

This. I had some other guy spec out a workstation from Dell. Came out to $7000. I spec'd a new computer that was quite superior for 1000 less.

    Computer Guys!

1 i don't go cheap on RAM, i use only ECC DDR2 RAM for our workstation (DDR3 is unavailable for workstations at this point so dont ask), on another note, 32bit in incapable of going over 4GB, its mathematically impossible.Either way, my system still recognizes 4GB, and that's the only point i...

    Computer Guys!

Well if this is true, why am i using 4GB when i check memory availability. While yes, its says 3GB/8GB MB memory, the other 1GB being utilized is in the graphics card...1+3=4

    Computer Guys!

Maybe so, XP still fails to serve our workstation to its potential. As XP support dwindles to nothing, Vista's will only increase and maybe one of these days it will utilize all 8 of our CPU cores. XP, Vista, or OS in the future, doesn't matter to me, either way, at most i pay $15 and get...

    Computer Guys!

yes, its a microsoft article, still fails to tell me why only 3GB is usable. 32 bit still has the ability for 4GB

    Computer Guys!

32 bit OS systems can access 4GB of memory. Video memory takes priority then system memory. This is why i love 64bit capabilites, 16TB of memory access is pretty crazy, lots of growing room. Our workstation's MB can take 24GB which is insane enough, i can't even imagine what kind of programs...

    Computer Guys!

Vista, while more demanding, is far more stable. We run 8GB of ECC mem on our workstation with it. We do some very intensive CAD designing software though. Dont forget, XP support will be DICONTINUED SOON. Vista will have a REPLACEMENT already next year supposedly. Keep this in mind. My...

Anyone know much about Diesel fuel systems?? (Engineering/design problem)

LOL, i do have other classes too IJ. In fact my 471 Principals of Engineering Design (or whatever it is) consumes most of my free time during the week. Were doing GM's EcoCar Challenge. 3 year project. We are year 1. Basically, take a saturn VUE and make it a hybrid. Doesn't have to be...

Anyone know much about Diesel fuel systems?? (Engineering/design problem)

I don't know much about different materials and coating and what they do. its not somethign i have much experience with. I just knew brass has a very high resistance against corrosion vs. steel and most other metals

Anyone know much about Diesel fuel systems?? (Engineering/design problem)

No one has any idea what hell mark on. Again, there are no guidelines.

pretty neat. I like to watch those kinds of vids on youtube. I especially like the memory metal ones.

Anyone know much about Diesel fuel systems?? (Engineering/design problem)

^at least im trying. And its not that they didn't teach it, its that they expect you to find out the information you need on your own. Its called Machine Design and Manufacturing for a reason :). I know the concepts for the most part we need to use, just need to apply. Im just trying to use...

Anyone know much about Diesel fuel systems?? (Engineering/design problem)

^lazy? not really. Merely using a car oriented website to try to find out information about car related questions. Trying to be resourceful as i couldn't find anything on the web since i can't narrow results without more basic know-how of the system. Its not like we get a book for this kind of...

^so, how are diesel injectors rated vs. gasoline injectors size wise? any different?

Anyone know much about Diesel fuel systems?? (Engineering/design problem)

then come do my finite element hw smart guy :evil2: either way, what other injection system is there, im curious. Like i said, i don't know much about diesels as it stands

Anyone know much about Diesel fuel systems?? (Engineering/design problem)

This is far from cheating IJ. I'm taking a different approach as mentioned, i could design it without any of this information and base it clearly on pressure loss and pipe diameter as most have but i could do a better design with it. I don't know of anyone doing this, i was just trying to get a...
