Ok so we are talking about filling gap between the top strip of the molding and the black strip it sits on and then painting it? Seems like a ton of work for not much result.
I'm looking at the pic's and I don't get it. What's different besides the fact that the moldings are painted.
Sorry for being dense. I like the gas cap.
I usually pull both, but last time I just pulled the trans and swapped in my new trans.
Honestly, it was more difficult than pulling the engine/trans.
If I had a lift and didn't have to use jackstands, than maybe I would just pull one or the other and not both.
But on the ground, I'd...
That's right, it has nothing to do with the cable. It's the little nylon gear inside the tail shaft. They have a tendency to wear out, but if you reach in the little hole where cable goes in and pull out the gear from your old trans and put it in your jdm...problem solved.
Worst case...
I'm sure that's true, but to be fair I've had stock 3rd members lock up on me.
I think the Toyota LSD is an exceptionally tough rear end, especially considering it's connected to independent supension, which tend to be wimpy in the ring and pinion department with alot of OEM's.

Yeaaaaaaaaaah.......I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with your first statement......second one too....
Seriously, the stock LSD doesn't suck.
And a million times better?
Why not a zillion or a kajillion times better?:sarcasm:
Beat me to it, couldn't agree more! I'm reading these posts about how much better the Kaaz is and I'm thinking...why?
Don't know about drift (said while smirking and rolling eyes), but at the strip my welded lsd has been amazingly tough.
I've twisted driveshafts, snapped U-joints, burned...
Yeah think donks. +1
Absolutely right. Height is height in relation to the ground (fender lip to ground measurement or top of bumper to ground etc.).
.
Only two?
That's nothing. Honestly I couldn't begin to count all the stupid stuff I've done. Some out of ignorance, some out of carelessness, and some I'm not sure.
Now I just try to learn from my dumbass moves, and try not to repeat them:nono:.
Good God...that's horrifing. I'm glad you're ok.
Your point of not ignoring a problem and hoping it will go away is well taken.
Sorry you had to go through that.
I and my family will pray for your speedy recovery.
Let us know how you are doing in the coming days.
Best of...
I remember the thread. And yes, they look great in the pictures. I can tell by looking at the raw kit that it's going to be a ton of work to get it looking really right.
My advice would be to make sure you're in love with it before you do it.
You never did mention exactly where the rear...
