Nothing in the timing case will leak coolant. The rear timing cover can leak oil, but afaik no coolant goes through that area. Id check the water pump or the 90* hose behind the water pump for leakage as hvyman suggested.

If you didn't touch the valve adjustments, then its possible you need smaller shims and they're constantly holding your valves open currently. The process is in the TSRM for adjusting them.

When I blew an intercooler pipe off, the car would still run, and it ran just enough to get me home. But still, idle was about 2k rpm. Reconnected the intercooler pipe and idle dropped down to factory. Sent from my HTC Rezound using Tapatalk 2

My car actually runs fantastic. Just have to chase down a few leaks, and get a tps, and hook up the egr. I think the biggest reason I'm not going (other than money) is since the tps isn't hooked up its in failsafe/limp mode and gets about 10 mpg. Sent from my HTC Rezound using Tapatalk 2

Its not his problem. I just did a ge to gte swap. The ge harness had no ac fan wire. The gte did. My ac still works amazing despite not hooking that wire to anything. Sent from my HTC Rezound using Tapatalk 2

I don't see why everyone is so concerned with piston speed. The LS7 revs to what, 7k rpm? Iirc, the piston speed on that is ~4200 ft. min. Granted, they have some crazy rods, but they're also chucking around a lot larger of pistons than we are. And then there's the 10,000 rpm 7M dragsters that...
