Your GTE block may also have oil squirters which the GE block will not have. I agree with TTE, just rebuild the GTE block if you can.

Youll need to either tap the block to fit the GTE's two knock sensors or wire the two knock sensors together.

If you remove the wheel well gaurds they are very easy to reach with a few extensions.
