    Machine deck with shortblock assembled?

No really? Is that why there are threads about a 7M do-over 4 or 5 times from some people? ;) No engine piece is identical unless it has been blueprinted. Cy, you are doing fine by trying to get the right answers. If only others would do the same. Give Rich a call. IJ is loooong distance.

    governer

Your 88 doesn't need one. None of them do, including the ones I owned. The 87 and 88 cars tested hit a wall at 156, which coincendentally, is how fast Toyota said the 87 turbo could go, even though it couldn't pull above 145 stock. 156 is not fuel cut in a 3.91 car and R154 trans car. A...

New 5th gear for the R154 - how about a taller overdrive?

Yes. 4th is direct drive, the input and output shaft are connected together. Hence, dyno pulls in 4th.

New 5th gear for the R154 - how about a taller overdrive?

I don't think it is going to happen. Not without a custom tune. Stock is too rich. My A340E and 91 couldn't do it with cruise control at 70mph. Ford did it by using an extreme lean cruise program, and a NOx front cat with an air pump. GM too for that matter. What is missing is what speed you...

    V6 stang open diff question

The opposite wheel turns the other way because the gears inside are walking around the diff. An open diff sends equal torque to both wheels. A limited slip sends unequal torque to the wheels. This is not debatable. If it only takes 5 lbs of torque to turn a tire, say on ice, only 5 lbs of...

    1jz Intake Manifold

No, I don't know what you mean. Perhaps you are driving the wrong car? I know they look great, but you have to decide if you want bang for the buck(look elsewhere) or a luxury GT. You should have just stopped there. :biglaugh: Thanks for the softball. :word8kn:

    Bhg?

They are going to need to deck that head. Well, I would be suprsied if you don't need it. Check the block for flatness. It can't be skipped, or you will be one of the do-overs.

The Luxocruiser 3650 lb sled thread

I ordered the LIPP elbow today from SupraSport.com. I felt like spending some money. I don't even have a turbo picked yet. But the BOSS Jr is starting to gain ground on the BOSS T04E 54.

    Wikipedia strikes again

He is talking about the turbine side of a turbocharger. This is the discussion page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Turbocharger#Turbos_are_superchargers_driven_by_heat

    March 1993 Road & Track

Really? :biglaugh: It is good that people save the copies. You never know when a house or garage will burn down. Really, those things happen. I am a little short in the Celica Supra dept, mostly because I didn't have a job at that point, to young. Hence, no money. Well done, good find. I...

    New 2010 GT500! I want one

The Cobra hasn't run 13's stock since 2001, and that was just people that can't drive. And why do you think a muscle car is supposed to have something on a track car, like the Z06? Why are such idiotic people drawn to the automotive world? Terminator with a chimp behind the wheel could...

    turbo elbo

Changing the stock downpipe, for even the HKS pipe with the stock elbow is a big gain over stock. But the integrated elbow is by far the best, as already noted. At least get that LIPP elbow.

    Hard start to no start....

If it got harder to start but started at some point, it isn't an ECU problem. And it very rarely is. Unless you do something to it. FP to B+ is a problem. That goes straight to the pump. Which will act exactly how you are describing. Does it restart after sitting a while and cooling off...

Precision fuel injector clips. [RC = same?]

I would think the 680 would be a little richer. :dunno: http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=863 HKS sells a 680 chip for the JZA80, 550 and stock for the MA70. Plus whatever small engine things they might sell.

need help with starter relay issue

You don't need 5 wires. You should only have power to the relay when the clutch switch is closed, and the ignition switch is in the crank position. Again, do you have power all the time to the relay? :edit: you don't need 5 wires to run a 4 wire relay...

    Wastegates: internal vs external

The function is to control how fast the turbine is spinning. That limits the total airflow from the unit into your engine.

need help with starter relay issue

So you can't look at the electrical wiring diagram and see what it needs? If you can't, maybe you should pay somebody that does. The big wired on the starter should always have power. The smaller one is the switched power...
