The eBay knock-offs are really heavy duty, and a simple extra hole drilled and tapped provides the 2nd bolt point. As long as it stays in place and it's loaded heavily against the frame rails by tightening the center screw assembly, I think they would work just as well. It seemed to on my car at...
But once mold grows on the lens, it can only be scrubbed off. I had to use a stiff brush and some strong cleaner on mine. I'm sure removing the red plastic lens is the only way.
Here's a cut and paste of my link above:
As some of you guys are thinking about retrofitting LED's into your...
It's an eBay store selling those, and he says free local pickup in San Diego, so someone local should at least go look at it and test fitment for the community. The ad says the targa will accept all stock trim.
I think suicide doors would look silly on a Mk3. However I still like the look of Mk3's with scissor doors. It's just unfortunate that the coolness factor gets overlooked by the fact that lambo doors have been played out by too many hondas, etc.
Around 2-4 hours, once the rear interior is out. Difficulty would be average-medium. I had to drill a new hole in the firewall to get the thick plugs/wires through(not easy). The install procedure for the motors is somewhat complicated, involving a precise number of turns and little parts and...
I installed it myself, and it's pretty cool. Using the Tein SS coilovers I found the spring rates too stiff for my liking, so using the EDFC my choices were either stiff, or very stiff. I've since installed a new set of lower spring rate Tein Flex, but haven't driven the car yet. I think I will...
I have purchased both car fashion and shine parts, and yes shine is 10 times better quality. I had to spend a lot of extra money to my body guy to get my car fashion bomex bumper to fit properly and to reinforce thin areas including one hole.

I just had to replace 3 wheel bearings on my 157k Mk3, that was very expensive. With 267k, you could end up forking out a LOT of $$$ for stupid stuff like suspension parts due to such insane mileage.
Looks pretty serious, and it's an HKS brand kit. It says Rotrex on it so it's probably the same unit. I wonder if it has a centrifugal RPM/ratio changing system inside, to get really high compressor RPM's as speed increases?
