I swear my bro had one of those...
Friends made fun of him for having a wagon, new kid in town said, "Know what we say about wagons where I'm from? More room for speakers!"
He beat the snot out of that car LOL
IIRC that GE was far from stock...
Anyway, back to the original questions.
The stock Y pipe is tubular IIRC and not cast, so you could remake it if you want to. Also, in that pic that' looks like a flare was used and the pipe was slipped inside, not a bad way to do it as it allows you to...
Honestly you're not going to run 3" piping to one muffler and get it quiet. You'll need at least one resonator, and even then, 3" and high flow AND quiet doesn't add up.
I don't consider mine to be obnoxiously loud, but it's definately louder than stock (stock is dead quiet) and the look...
Welcome ;)
Yeah, the engine I have in my car is a pre-89 and I just took everything off my old engine to put on the new one. You're also changing to a GTE so that throws a few kinks into that idea...
Ah, ok. It will be obvious what sensors don't work when you go to assemble (if you assemble on the stand with the wiring harness as well which is the best way)
I think it should.
I'm assuming this is going into a pre-89 car? Might have issues where the engine wiring harness connects to the body harness. The pinouts are different.
Seems to be a common problem because people assume it doesn't matter. When the assembly is done properly, the hub is pretty rigidly mounted to the PP and won't rattle or move around easily.
They do indeed come in 245/50-16's, just gotta find em http://www.kumhousa.com/Tire_SizeChart.aspx?id=bd353bff-f16b-47e5-926f-a6daed9dd99f
I have SPT's, and I dunno, personally I'd go ASX's as teh SPT's suck during the winter (too cold, don't grip)
