Doubling the power the engine had stock without opening the block is pretty damn rare in the automotive world. The record for the 2J is nearly 3x stock power (800+). 7M with a MHG and properly rebuilt to stock tolerances has pushed over 700. The main thing is the MKIV guys go stand-alone...

GTM will still cost $50K unless you're REAL lucky on finding the source 'vette. I dunno, it just looks like it lacks body lines or something.

Somebody put a 5M in a MKIII so...

Z bend in roll cage = flat pack if it rolls over... Not to mention the engine not fitting under the hood, just seems to be a bucket of fail.

Only real issue is these days it's cheaper to go 2J NA-T than it is to build a 7M. Hell, a stock 2J block is pretty cheap from Toyota IIRC...

IIRC there was a recall on the early 5.7's, and NO engine is immune to a moron owner.

The real danger without EGR is the aggressive timing used during EGR operation. Hence why it CAN'T be tuned out properly with piggybacks.

Once they're warped/rusted the only real fix its to replace...

The GTM is a bit....plain and still looks kit car-ish.
