Early and late miata oil pressure gauge is the say way. Early was an actual guage, late was an idiot light looking like a guage...

The path that the stock line takes is pretty long and has quite a few joints, would be easy for it to be clogged or leaking. Run a dedicated line and see if it goes away. If it does, fix the stock path.

Local shop quoted me the same price and it wouldn't be stainless, mandrel bent, or have flanges.

Unless you've changed since your pics, it's a stock replacement radiator. It may be made by CSF but it's still a stock size and quality.

In that case it's simply heat soak, don't worry too much about it. You do have a stock radiator though, so keep an eye on it...

Well, you can always set the pedal height as high as it will go and then set the freeplay to nearly zero. Of course this goes against all the specs as freeplay is there to compensate for heat in the system (drive really aggressice and you'd be surprised ho much heat gets into the system and...

Bingo, the stock gauge won't show overheating until you're REALLY overheating.

The ones in that picture are non-DOT or anything lights. There is a kit of the miata that uses them. There are better alternatives but they're much harder to install...
