I was crusing thru fresno... not doin anything... and these 2 hicks with a BRAND new gt (paper plates) pull up and gun the engine... I looked over smiled (as i smiled, I hit the high(er) boost button(12 psi)) downshifted to 2nd, he jumped i gassed it... I SMOKED HIM. Literaly DISTROYED him...
That is the old school way of doing it... works EVERY time. i suggested 6500 cause it's the 6m crank's redline... take it up to 6k thats fine too. you just want lots of vacum for a extended period... 1st gear works well since your going slow... so smoke really doesnt dissapate much.
A bad turbo can smoke anytime... when ya boost, when your idliling.... whatever...
valve stem seals are VERY easy to check for... drive the car up to 6500 in 1st gear.... and let off the throttle... DO NOT PUSH IN THE CLUTCH watch in your rear view to see if smoke starts coming out... if it...
