For a good Drift setup its all about the suspension. Our cars have a near 50/50 balance which is perfect as is. We don't weight much more then a MKIV and they can drive with out a problem.

i would be worried about the internals of the motor being water did touch it. Even if it did burn it out and its running i'd open it up to see if there is more water or if it will rust in time. But thats just me :) GOod stuff man. Good thing it didn't die out because then that = more water...

it could most likely be a boost leak. Yes you could still boost even if its not alot but you will have black smoke because you are going way too rich and then it boggs because of the gas in the cyl. Check for leaks. Also hit the gas & brake when at the track to build boost then take off and...
i've heard of 2 cases where someone pulled the steering wheel off as they went to hae dinner with their family and a theif broke the window and threw on the same aftermarket steering wheel. I'd do that + a kill switch just to be safe
