i have my car for 2 yrs or so.... purchased it with 175K miles all original. 216K now. Never changed the HG owner said its the original motor with no major work done to it.
maybe the gasket is just old and finally went after being taken off.... just let them know that there wasn't an exhaust leak before. Get it checked out and see exactly were it is coming from. If its just an old bad gasket then buy a new one n pop it in.

i'd do it and see what happens. What power levels you wanna go to? Get a manifold that can be used with the popular big turbo upgrades just in case this one doesn't work out too well power wise for you.
