    new engine running like crap....

I'll stick to the code issue. It can at first seem confusing whether a sensor is bad or just doing it's job but most sensors on the engine throw codes only when they or their associated wiring is bad. The key is knowing which sensor is in a feedback loop. For example the O2 sensor effects the...

    Heli-coil or tap?

Yep. Little more than a two part epoxy with a metalized filler. At least with Devcon you can get stainless or even titanium ;)

    Air filter CFM

Hard to say but unless you live in a very dusty area it'll last a long time. Airfilters are probably right up there with O2 sensors and motor oil for being changed while they're still good. I'd say 20-25K miles minimum. All filters filter better as they load up to a point but thereafter the...

    Air in cooling system

No vote needed Joel. In the end it'll probably come down to my decision anyway. People come and go on forums all the time and my better half is giving me grief about being here when I'm home as it is. She deserves better ;)

    oil pressure...

Thanks for the info on the sticks 3P. Good question on the oil sender since it is indeed passive. Never cut one open but since it puts out a nice clean waveform there must be some sort of weird design in there. I've never thought about it before but it's actually an intriguing question.

    Need Help Quick!!!!!!!

I believe the tranny uses the speed sensor in the speedometer. No speedo, no speed sensor. Fix that first and your tranny problems will probably disappear.

    Air filter CFM

Paper, fits, cheap, and looks good to boot. Sweeeet ;)

    Air filter CFM

I'm no expert on filters but I've read enough real test data (compared to non-scientific testing) to have formulated the opinion I hold and it always shows paper is best, foam is second, and oiled gauze is way last. For example: http://tinyurl.com/692ma This applies when one is concerned...

    Air in cooling system

Lol, I have a thicker skin than that guys. Besides, I'm sure he feels better now ;) My comment was referring to the N/A forum where, from what I've observed, there seems to be more of those who're technically challenged than the turbo types. In that context I was just surprised to see an...

    oil pressure...

Hi Adjuster. Nice setup you've got there. You didn't mention you had an oil guard and accusump so the minor differences we sahre are gone. The OG is indeed a good filter. I'm just too cheap to pay for the elements. That said it's obvious you know how to care for an engine. I'm confused about...

Funny how A/C systems break overnight

I loved it. The gearbox alone was wonderful. Digital dash, leather, went like a scalded cat. A blast to drive. I was quite smitten with it. The guy who owned it was only 20 and I'd just met him. A complete stranger. You could tell he was proud of it and when I ask to see the car he tossed me the...

Funny how A/C systems break overnight

I agree but it's all about the bottom line and what sells. It's a lot like television in that they're only giving "us" what we want. Things will swing back though, it's just a matter of time. And Toyo does make some nice luxury cars. Off topic but I drove a 2003 Honda S2000 last night...

    Please Help!

Yep, that'd do it alright. Kudos to you for ferreting it out yourself. I also think you need a new shop. An interesting item: The ecu modifies injector duration based on battery voltage when the charging system fails. It really tries to bring you home ;)

    oil pressure...

My TSRM says 4.2 with filter, 3.9 without. In US quarts. This is an 87 TSRM. I see the online one is different but still not what you claim. Seems we're all close though depending on the model year and manuals. Run one more just for grins ;)

    Help!

Oh, so now you tell me Grim ;). You're right, I checked the books. O2 codes (21, 25, and 26) are set only in US, Canadian, and OZ models. Damn internet and it's worldwide capabilites ;). By set I mean light the MIL. As far as I can tell they should still be set in memory but the books aren't...

    running rich

Simply becasue you have a code doesn't mean you still have the problem. Codes will remain set even if the problem disappears. All it means is the code 14 problem corrected itself before the ecu shut the engine shut down. It's why I suggested you clear them and start over. After all, you had all...

    Please Help!

I dunno what your problem is but it can't be hard to find. The charging system is pretty simple and the alternator is easy to test. While I'm here I need to dispell some charging system misinformation. Someone here stated the charge warning lamp is part of the charging circuit as in cars of...

    running rich

Well, if you no longer have any codes you no longer have code 14 so it's gonna run. I didn't explain everything but take my word for it, the engine will not run when it has the fault that causes code 14. So you had all these codes and now you have none? How can that be? You've got a serious...
